I purchased this about a month ago. I have always had a Sunbeam Stand Mixer and loved it. The new mixer performs great, but the glass bowls are so heavy they are hard for me to work with. My last mixer had aluminum bowls.

Old Sunbeam mixer just wore out and the new one is way too heavy, wish I could return it!!?

I am replacing my 30 year old Sunbeam Mix Master that just died making a cake this Christmas. So I wanted to stick with the brand I knew and loved all these years. I got the new one and boy have things gotten cheap??? The big bowl it too tall not like the old one which was wide and when you try to hold with one hand to empty with the other it is hard, heavy and ackward. The machine when it runs bounces up and down even when nothing in the bowl, dont know if that is a defect or not will inquire. Over all very dissapointed in this unit.

I bought this mixer for my daughter but the bowl is too lightweight and slides all around the base at all speeds. After using and enjoying a much older version of this mixer, I am very disappointed in this mixer.

Pros: it arrived quickly when my 10 yr old Sunbeam motor died. It mixes well.
Cons: 1. the locking bowl is a nuisance because it does not sit well on the counter. The extra height is hard to hold while pouring batter. 2. My small 30 yr old small stainless bowl does not fit on top of the locking clips which are on the turntable. I am however, able to use my 10 yr old glass bowls. 3. I hate the lock for the the head. I thought it would be nice for holding the beaters up, but it also locks in the down position. Problem is it takes 2 hands to lift beaters up for scraping the bowl because the lock button is too far down to allow one hand to both lift & unlock. 4. The mixer is tall in the up position so must be pulled to the edge of counter to clear my upper cabinets while using.

Somewhat disappointing

Have had two previous Sunbeam Mixaster's, so when my last one gave out I bought another. Only one bowl, not good, you really need two; also there are no instructions on how to remove the bowl as it locks onto the turn table. Finally yanked it off. I'm sure that isn't good. Just a little disappointed.

We apologize for your frustrations with your mixer! A second bowl can be purchased. To take the bowl on the turntable, press it down a little bit and turn it counterclockwise at the same time. Check out the 4 quart bowl by following the link below:
