I bought this and returned it. All I did was put together and went romliftbtomput on my counter and the top comes off to convert to hand mixer. Very cheaply made( plastic). My current sunbeam stand mixer and my previous one was much better quality. Decided to keep my old one and found new beaters for it and works great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this product about a month ago. It does not compare to my 55 year old Sunbeam Stand Mixmaster. It is much lighter weight, the bowls are heavier and taller. A plus is that the new Mixmaster has dough hooks and whisks.

Mixing bowl does NOT turn!

Unfortunately, this was given to me as a gift otherwise I would return it. The mixing bowl does NOT turn as is advertised. Therefore the ingredients do NOT get evenly mixed unless you stand there and manually turn the bowl! Ridiculous and very disappointing! Should have waited for the Kitchen Aid.

No comparison to past Sunbeam products

I purchased this mixer in January 2017 expecting it to compare with past purchases. It doesn't! The bowl doesn't automatically turn, I have to help it along, I have to scrape the sides down continuously for everything to mix well, and the plastic bottom piece that fits the bowl on the stand falls with screws that won't hold their grip. I've been afraid to use this mixer for heavier dough. I'm 66 years old and have only used Sunbeam stand mixers beginning with my mother's "mixmaster" when I was a child.

Sorry - but this edition of the Sunbeam mixer does not live up to its "heritage." I bought it to replace an old Sunbeam that I'd gotten years and years of good use out of. Right out of the box I could tell the quality was not there (too light in weight, bowl did not have a click-in mechanism to the turning base). The first time I tried it, there was very little power variation, despite the many "speeds". The beaters did not catch the batter at the side of the bowl, thus making constant swiping with a spatula necessary. The worst part is that during the third time using it, the power completely went out. Turning on and off produced a couple of momentary revs - but it never regained mixing power. Actually, the very worst part is that I threw away the receipt when I bought it, thinking I'd have a quality mixer for a long time. I was sadly mistaken.

We have used this produce several times with no issues. However, when we make a larger quantity of breads and other doughs it seems to run slower and doesn't mix as well. Also, this product is very loud. We received this as a demo product and definitely will use it a lot more, even though its pretty loud.
