All Show, No Go

This looks great. It's good features stop there. The mixer comes with dough hooks but don't be silly enough to try and use them as the thing will almost come apart (the internal construction at the hinge from the top to the base appears to be made of plastic) and it will start to get that electrical smell and get very hot. (I was making 12 bagels at the time, not five loaves of wholemeal bread.)
It’s the worst kitchen appliance I’ve ever bought. It’s hardly even any good at general mixing; the bowl plate doesn’t automatically rotate, the beaters don’t reach the sides properly.
In a word: junk.

I bought this years ago but I just used this for the 1st time last dec. 2014. i was so confident that I did not try it at once knowing that this brand is very familiar with me since my old Sunbeam Mixer is excellent whenever I use it specially in beatinfg the eggwhites. This model doesn't beat well leaving the eggwhites watery even beatinf it after several minutes. Another problem is I cannot remove the beaters & the bowl since the body does not tilt down. Is tit possible if I can still return or exchange it. I asked already different people to help me tilt the body but still nothing happened. I am now leaving outside US & it's so hard for me.

I had a sunbeam i had for 15 years, made so much candy I thought it was time to replace it , received it as a gift for Christmas, and it is the worst mixer I have everr used!!! Speeds are all low, bowl want turn like it is suppose to. It is a joke. Dont buy it.

Poor engineering

I have been using my new mixer (FPSBSMGLW) for several months now. I kept thinking that I just needed to get used to the new design. Well, the design is poor enough that I am sorely disappointed. 1) The bowls are so deep that every time I scrape them and try to pull the scraper out I wind up with batter on the main housing. There is not enough clearance. 2) The beaters are so far off the bottom of the bowl that beating egg whites is almost impossible. 1 large egg white does not beat at all, 2 large egg whites touch the bottom of the beaters a bit, but I had to tilt the bowl in order to get them to start foaming at all. 3) The lack of a center post in the beaters keeps them from doing an adequate job of breaking up lumps in the batter or when whipping potatoes. 4) Although the head is removable, the back support on the head is so long that it is very difficult to use independently for mashing potatoes or whipping up cooked frosting.
I think that you should have testers for your new products who actually USE THEM. I have loved my Sunbeam mixmasters for many years and would gladly join a test panel. I use mine routinely, and wish this one had come close to your previous standards. It's very disappointing.

i bought his mixer a week or so ago, works OK, but it only came with dough hooks and beaters, wish it had more attachments, guess i will just save up and get a kitchen aid

Bowl does not turn

I bought this after the Heritage mixer that I bought 15 years ago finally started acting flakey. This new one DOES NOT WORK!! The bowl DOES NOT TURN!! I don't know if it's the new tech (the bowl is supposed to tun either way) that causes this but I should not have to manually turn the bowl.

Thank you for your review. On the stand mixers all turntables are free-wheeling and must be turned by hand. The bowl spins on a freely spinning base by the nylon tip of the cone shape beater. The bowl may need to be nudged with your hand to encourage it to spin. We'd like to hear more about your experience. Plastic gears fail

I have a Mixmaster Heritage Stand Mixer and the plastic gears failed. Sunbeam does not sell replacement gears so the mixer is now headed to the dumpster. Unfortunate that they cheaped out on gears and ever worse that they don't sell replacement parts. Not a company I can endorse any longer.

Very Disappointed

I just got the Mixmaster as a early present and I am very disappointed in the way this is made and that there is not a bowl scraper included or available for it. For the body to be made of plastic is just terrible
