I have had this model for the past number of years. I have found it to be dependable and it does the job as needed. I have made bread in it (one loaf at a time) and it works well for that. It also is great for cookies, cakes, and other mixing jobs. The whisks are good for mixing egg whites or whipping cream. Having two bowls is great and very useful. However, there are some things that could be improved. First, the small bowl is a bit large and both are quite heavy. The older-style Sunbeam bowls, a bit smaller, were more practical. The beater-to-bowl clearance cannot be adjusted as on older models, and as a result of this and the large beater button, the beaters sit rather high in the bowl. This leads to more scraping to make sure the batter at the bottom gets incorporated. All this could be solved with slightly smaller bowls and beaters that go down further into the bowl itself. The mixer has good power and is easy to clean. Due to the design it is possible, though not easy, to detach the mixer head and use as a portable mixer. All in all, this mixer is good for most purposes but could be improved.

I like the fact that this mixer is not too heavy to move on my kitchen counter. I also like that I can easily add ingredients to the mixing bowl while the beaters are turning. I had a Mixmaster for many years and knew I wanted another when that one finally was worn out. Other brands of mixers are much too heavy for me to maneuver and use easily and I don't care for the way the beaters and bowls are aligned.

beaters fall out

orked great for occasional use until beaters got loose . useless now.

bowl does not turn

i thought i was upgrading as well, because my old sunbeam died after many years and i bought this one,, but the bowl doesn't turn at all, i have to press really really hard on the mixer to allow the beaters to touch the bottom of the bowl, but that kills your arm,, i have taken it apart to try and fix the bowl base to see if it would turn while using,, but to no avail it will not work,, so bummed out because i prefer a mixer that has two beaters to one,, so upsetting to have spent that kind of money

Red stand mixer

I had the one white one of these, then I got the red one here, I think they are suppose to be the same but this red one works alot better than the white one even. its fantastic. I put an review on walmart.com and also amazon for this. at walmart its got almost 5 starts, it deserves more stars then 5... the beaters are slightly longer then on the white one, at least on mine, and that makes for the bowl to spin alot better, and the stainless steel bowl being locked on helps too, now also, the dough hooks work much better in this one on dough, its very light and fluffy. I haven't had any problems with it, no matter what I have tried to make and its very quiet, something else that means alot to me. I don't think you will be disapointed in this mixer,, its the best!! I have a kitchenaid that I hardly ever use, just reach for this one. if you can't afford a kitchenaid, don't worry, this is better!

This machine works better than it looks

I have had this mixer awhile now. It looks cheap to me, I wish they would make this one out of metal and in colors with the glass bowls. I also have the pink heritage which is gorgeous, but recently, making a hard to make cookie dough, the pink heritage wouldn't mix it and I have no idea why. I got this one out and it mixed it right up. what the difference is I have no idea but this is my new favorite one. I don't like the plastic but it works like a charm. I don't understand the bad reviews unless people are not familiar with this type of mixer.
