Not happy with green. I ordered white. Old Bowls don't fit the base. Disappointed but I'll keep and use it.

We're sorry to hear that you did not receive the color you wanted. Our older mixers had a different size bowl with shorter beaters so that they are not compatible. We thank you for being a Sunbeam consumer!
I love my new mixer. I had been without a stand mixer for 2 yrs. and I had been shopping for a new one for awhile. I am very pleased that I chose this one. I used it for Thanksgiving, fixing cakes, frostings and even for whipping my deviled egg filling, (I had never done that before, it came out perfect)! Very satisfied with the quality of the beaters, the bowl and the mixer. Thank you!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as a present for myself. I grew up using my mother’s mixmaster. As an adult, I always had a handheld mixer. My sisters both have KitchenAids, but I don’t like them; I need to see what’s in the bowl as I’m mixing! The off-set bowl feature is an absolute necessity to me. I saw this Heritage mixer with the updated look and got it—in green! I added a second small bowl, so I’m fully outfitted. I think this mixer is a super good value.

Not the mixmaster of the past

I have had Sunbeam Mixmaster mixers since mid 60's and have always been very pleased. When my third one died of natural causes in 2018, my friends all tried to get me to purchase another brand that has a higher customer rating. But I wanted my familiar mixer that had served me so well over the years. But this mixmaster is not the mixer of the past. The beaters are smaller and do not overlap the center of the large bowl, always leaving a two inch circle in the middle that never gets mixed. The beaters also leave 1/2 inch on the sides and the bottom of the bowl that do not get mixed. If you are creaming butter, you will have to manually help the mixer do its job. If the batter is heavy and thick, again, you will have to manually help the mixer do its job. Don't suggest that I put my beaters in correctly, because they ARE in correctly. The variable speed numbers are printed on the mixer, but not the definition of the speed (such as cream, whip, blend, etc). These definitions are printed in the book that comes with the mixer, but I don't want to get the book out every time I use the mixer. I would not recommend this mixer and will not be purchasing another one.

Red stand mixer pros and cons

I appreciate the color, the sleek look, and the design of The Sunbeam Heritage Series Stand Mixer. It is an added splash of color to the counter, but yet not flashy or obtrusive in size. I like that the mixer comes with the different mixing blades, for beating or breads. It fits well under the cupboard, making it easy to access and use when desired. The mixer is lightweight and with the built-in handle on the top, it is easily moved around the kitchen. This is appreciated, especially with my 13 and 15-year-old children who like to use the mixer when they bake. The mixer has a great selection of speeds, which are easily adjusted with a simple turn of the dial. It is not complicated to set or difficult to see the settings for the variety of speeds. The low-speed was especially nice, as when flower was added to the mix, the flower actually stayed in the ball and did not shoot all over the counter. There was a couple of things that I did not appreciate with the mixer. Although the extrawide bowl was nice in size, it did make it more difficult to incorporate all of the ingredients. It required a lot of manual scraping of the sides of the bowl. This was the case with multiple recipes. The base of the mixer, where the bowl sits, does have the grooves in them, but at the higher speeds I was afraid the bowl was going to come out of the track area. This limited the speed and increased preparation times with some of the recipes. The sunbeam was able to complete all of the tasks my sisters brand-new mixer was able to do. Although, was it times more awkward and time-consuming to use. I do however appreciate this mixer for The general use for several reasons: 1) easier for my children to use on their own. 2) easy to clean. 3) lightweight. 4) keep on the counter is it looks good.

I was not pleased at all with the Sunbeam Mixmaster Heritage Series stand mixer. I tried three different store bought mixes – brownie, gingerbread cookie, and snickerdoodle cookie – and each time I had to help the mixer out. I thought the point of a stand mixer was so that you wouldn’t have to mess with it. *I did follow the user manual instructions that the “mixer is designed to be off-center” with the large bowl and that was how I started. However, when I turned it on, the beaters would spin but only the batter in the immediate vicinity was touched, and not really moved. I had to manually spin the bowl or move the bowl selector lever from side to side to make the dough mix. I would have been much better off with a hand mixer or doing it myself with a fork! A few other notes… the label on the bottom of the stand mixer with its name was upside down. I’ve not used other stand mixers but it doesn’t seem very intuitive. The button on the top of the handle is to eject the beaters but to me (and my mother-in-law who was cooking with me) it should be to raise and lower the mixer head. That is just naturally where I went to do it before reading the buttons. Note: I received this mixer for review purposes.

Thank you for taking the time to write in this review. I am sorry to hear that the mixer did not meet your expectations. On the stand mixers all turntables are free-wheeling and must be turned by hand. The bowl spins on a freely spinning base by the nylon tip of the cone shape beater. The bowl may need to be nudged with your hand to encourage it to spin.

Review Sunbeam Mixer

I really liked the appearance of the Sunbeam Mixer. I liked that the mixer is light weight enough to move to my counter where I use it. However it didn’t seem to be as heavy duty as I needed when I was making stiff dough. The machine shut off on me twice while mixing a batch of cookie dough. I also found the dough clung to the edges and I had to scrape the edges of the bowl often in order to get the dough mixed properly I was disappointed that the turntable is not removable for easy cleaning. I like the metal mixing bowl and the way it fit on the machine, but I didn’t like the way the bowl vibrated when I was mixing the dough. After more time with the mixer I find that I understand it better and like it more each time I use it! I received this as a sample for my honest review.
