Love the Ceramic Coating!

I enjoyed using this fondue pot. The ceramic coating is great. The coating makes clean up easy and I'm also not as afraid of the forks damaging the pot as I have been with the pot I had in the past. I also liked that the temperature gauge suggests which setting to use depending upon what type of fondue I am making.

This is a beautiful appliance I was a little surprised at how sturdy it was on countertop. I have fun with my sisters using this product. We dipped everything from apples two potato chips which was awesome. We had some very minor setbacks the cord is a little short so we couldn't use the pot as a centerpiece on the main table and the fruit and cake wouldn't stay on the forks once dip in the chocolate sauce, but no worries we just finished everything out with a wooden spoon. When we finish my oldest sister used the pot for meatball soup I thought the cleanup was going to be a nightmare! I was wrong, all you needed was some mild dish soap and warm water, very easy and low maintenance . Overall I loved this pot, I'm taking my pot to work for a pot luck lunch in the office , I'm planning to bring warm spinach dip and chips. I feel I will have no problems putting everything in a bag and riding the train. Also, I received this product as a sample to review.

This is a nice looking, high quality product that can definitely do more than just fondue! The temperature control is a great feature to make small batches of soup, sauces, gravies, etc, and I love that me 11 year old can use it and not have to turn on the stove! The only critiques I have are that I would prefer it in a different color that goes more with my kitchen colors, and threat when you plug the power cord in the dial is obstructed by one of the handles. I will definitely use this for entertaining & think my guests will love it! I received this product as a sample to review and am very impressed with quality, function and ease of use!

I bought this less than a year ago, and it just stopped working. I plug it in, and it won't hear up. Unfortunate, as we liked it for the short time it lasted.

It started go off after a few uses. I had to wiggle the magnetic end of the power cord into the temperature probe guard. That worked for awhile. It now won't come on at all. I emailed Oster to inquired about service or replacement. I still have not heard back from Oster after two weeks.

Well-made, but I have a question...

I bought two of these fondue cookers for a Christmas night dinner, one for oil and one for cheese.
First, they're very well made and attractive. I appreciate the fact that they're designed to be very stable and they have non-slip feet. Having had a Sterno-fueled fondue pot tip over on me once, I know it can be dangerous. They also feature a quick-disconnect heating element, so tripping over the cord won't cause a catastrophe.
Got them yesterday so I decided I'd test them before Christmas night, not wanting a defective fondue pot to spoil our fun. They worked fine right out of the box - I think. The temperature controller has a maximum temp setting of 400 degrees. I put 3 cups of water in both of them. (The instructions very clearly say, do not use more than 2 1/2 cups of oil when cooking, but I figured - "Hey, WTF? It's my fondue pot and I'm using water!"
I cranked both of them up to 400 and waited about 15 minutes. Stirred the water with a thermometer and waited. And waited. Neither of them ever got to 212! They both got to exactly 211 degrees, but never got to a real BOIL.
It may be that 211 degrees is perfect for beef fondue using oil as the medium. I'm sure 211 is more than hot enough for cheese fondue or chocolate. We'll find out on Christmas night when there 8 pieces of beef in the pot.
Oh. The other thing that was kinda weird is that they come with 8 sharp-tipped metal fondue forks, but.....the instructions say "do not use metal fondue forks because they can scratch the "DuraCeramic Non-Stick Surface". Oh well. We'll be careful.
