I have had these for over a year and no they do not seal all the time. I do not put them in the dishwasher. The lids are full of chambers for air removal but these lids are hard to clean because of that. Also trying to get the lids to close on the bottom before making them airtight is hard to do. I really have to press down hard on them and a lot of times that doesn't work either
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tested these out when I got them using the hand-held vacuum with attachment. Structural integrity needs a boost on these containers as the top and bottom almost met in the middle when extracting the air. Other than that, they are OK.

Sealing system unreliable

When it works, it kept deli fresh longer, however it loses seal easily, and it is also difficult to pull a vacuum with the poorly designed adapter.

The seal design on these is not so good. I have a newer model FoodSaver with built in accessory adapter which works wonderfully on the high end containers. The built in adapter has a rubberized edge that just doesn't allow good contact with these seals, so I have to remove the new adapter and use the hard edged adapter that was provided with the containers. Once you get it to work they are fine. These I reluctantly recommend as the price is right, they are better than having nothing, and they are better than older versions...but if you can afford the more expensive ones, go for them instead. They cooperate better!

I have been using these containers for years. The quality of the lids with the last few purchases has deteriorated to the point that now, the material is so flexible that it bows in while the air is being sucked out. This causes the adapter to lose seal with the lid. If it does happen to seal, it will lose seal in a day or so. They are junk

Extremely Time Consuming to Clean

These containers work well, are well made with heavy duty material but the time it takes to clean all these containers for me is just not worth using them. The thin, flexible seals must be removed for cleaning, they don't just pop out and in and when you have 10 plus containers it's very frustrating. Once you get them out you have to perfectly position them to get them back in place, they do not seat right and you'll test your patients here. I purchased so many of these and I use them but I honestly can't stand the hour it takes to pull them apart and put them back together. They work well but the bags work just as well and aren't this much hassle. Need a better design here or thicker seals so they are easier to work with.

Started using my Foodsavor and discovered the deli containers. My blind husband can find his lunch meat and I can keep several days worth His job is to put it back in his crisper drawer and let me know so I can vacuum seal it again. I am now the proud owner of 8 of them. I use one to keep cheese cubes in. The deli container doesn’t squish the cheese like the zipper bags.
I would recommend this to a friend!
