I have had good luck sealing these items. I have found that sealing them with the hand held sealer works best for me.

Too difficult to get a good seal.

I have the V4865 vacuum sealing system. I have to use most of my weight in pressing down on the accessory vacuum attachment to get a good seal. No problem with the marinator, bottle stopper, or mason jar sealer. It seems when the container has the small, gray, oval, flexible stopper on the lid, getting a good seal is either very difficult or impossible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for Dry Items

I am a Verrry satisfied customer of the FoodSaver products. I do have to say to anyone using these containers only use them for dry, non-oil producing items. The interior of the lid's square design is Not easy to clean...I do not have a washing machine so those who have washing machines may find them easier to clean...I often have to soak the lids for a few hours (using Dawn dish detergent) then go through the tedious effort to individually clean out each square....
"It's only for deli meats" some readers may say, but the food saver concept is so popular in my home, my family will use them to take leftovers (casseroles, rice dishes) and salads on the go for lunch at work/school. Why not? Once they are sealed they will Not EVer LEAK!!! which is a wonderful thing...I just wish the lids were easier to hand wash.

Best sealing container mechanism to date! Would even be better without the shallow grooves in the long axis so that it can easily accommodate the wide jar sealer top. It fits ... but just barely to provide correct vacuum.

I bought 6 containers. On Sunday, I make mass quantities of spinach salad and seal them. Each day I add tomatoes and munch for lunch. I'm eating healthier now than ever.

I bought 4 of these containers to help keep our deli products fresh for a longer time because we don't use them up quickly. They work really well at keeping them fresh for that longer time. I did have difficulty with a couple of the containers at sealing. It took a bit of recovering and re-seating the seals to get them to work. 2 worked perfectly first time, no problems sealing. 1 took a couple of tries to get it to seal every time, and 1 took considerably longer to get it to seat/seal consistently. But once they were "broken in?" they started sealing with no problems. I would recommend these with the warning that a little persistence may be needed to get them to start sealing consistently.

The deli meat containers are nice but the vacuum sealing doesn't work. I tried every way possible, with the adapter, without the adapter, but the progress indicator stops at the 4th light and just hums away incessantly. I suppose I can use the containers for regular storage and continue using the zip log bags for my deli meats.
