Terrific value and perform flawlessly

I am very pleased with these little containers, they are the perfect size to stack in my deli drawer. I purchased them with hesitation, because of some of the reviews, but I am now convinced that the users didn't know how to check the seals or wash them well enough. If no vacuum is achieved then turn the lid over and make sure the gasket seal is flat within its channel in the lid by running a wet finger around the gasket with some pressure. If your finger is dry the gasket can become dislodged. If vacuum releases on its own remove the lid, wash the gasket with warm soapy water and rinse well. If there is oil or soap residue, a vacuum may be achieved, but not held. This is true for the valve gasket, as well.

Great Product & Time Saver

We have had the Food Saver machine with the roll & qt bags, but we just acquired the canister set, marinate container & the slim hand held saver. We love all the pieces & I have kept the qt size container with cheese for 2 weeks with no problem & I also used another qt container to put 1/2 a head of lettuce in. We used up the first 1/2 & then we tried the one in the container, it was very crisp & we just keep putting it back in for another week. It got a little rusty around the edges, but it never has destroyed the head. We are glad we have these products.

I have been a Food Saver customer for over 20 years and love it! I bought these conainers because I was so tired of throwing away expensive deli meat. They were amazing right after I bought them and at least doubled the life of my deli meat. But then they stopped sealing. I came to the site to warn others, but read the other reviews first. I immediately rinsed the seal on my containers, dried them, and they worked like a charm! Thanks for the tip! I would love to see a guide on the site for how long various items will stay fresh by using the sealer, though. That would be very valuable!

These are just the right size for sliced cheese and deli meats that I like to buy in bulk at the warehouse stores. Then I freeze them in smaller section with parchment paper between them In the gallon ziplock vacuum bag so I can take out just enough for the deli foodsaver container.
Sometimes the sealing gasket comes loose znd it won't seal so you need to be sure the lid is properly secured before vacuum sealing. Also, make sure the tabs are on the same dide when sealing to make opening easier.
One other note: Don't put meat ,and cheese in the same container. The juice ftom the meat will ruin the cheese.

Terrible Seal

This is the worst of Foodsaver's products I've tried so far. I've been a Foodsaver user for close to 10 years now. I bought these containers to use for keeping deli meat fresh. I put the open package of deli meat into the container and sucked out the air as directed. I checked the seal on the container and it seemed solid. The next day I went to use the deli meat and when I went to release the seal I didn't hear the normal noise of the seal releasing. At first I thought there was some other background noise drowning it out. So I resealed the container and stuck it bake in the refrigerator. I waited about 5 minutes and checked it again. The lid just came right off as if it had never been sealed. I repeated this process 3 or 4 times with both containers and got the same result. I wish I had spent a little more money and got the larger containers that have the push button release. These containers have a thin flap of rubber that you pull up to release. All in all, they're not very good.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Seal doesn't work

Save your money. I have 4. From the beginning, seals have leaked.Nice and tight for the first several hours but suction gone by the am. I have cleaned and dried, etc without improvement. Good idea, just doesn't work. The vacuum bags, however, are absolutley wonderful!

I am having a great deal of trouble getting these containers to work. I have about worn myself out trying to find the exact "right" position for the adapter to extract the air. I have gotten it right once on one of the containers but can't find it again. It shouldn't be this hard.
