brush head vibrates OFF Every time!

Started out loving this thing but in about a month the brush head falls off EVERY TIME I us it now. Its going back!
Pros: light weight & small charger for travel
Cons: broke!

This is my first electric toothbrush, but most certainly not my last. Forget the cost! Consider the fact that you're going to take better care of your teeth.

Love my toothbrush

I love the Sonicare toothbrushes. They do such a great job cleaning that my time spent in the chair with the dental hygienist is minimal. The one and only thing I do not like is the fact that you cannot replace the battery. Once it dies, which for me has been about every 2-3 years, I have to buy new handle. Not only is it very expensive, but it is such a waste. In a time when we are trying to "reduce, reuse and recycle" figuring out how to make a model with the ability to replace the battery seems like the sensible thing to do. I understand from the business perspective, however, from a consumer's perspective it leaves me wondering if I really need to buy a fourth Sonicare toothbrush.
Cons: cannot replace the battery

Prone to failure

About three years ago, I purchased this product. Overall, I loved it (when it worked); however, the handle has a tendancy to fail. The first time I experienced problems, Philips was quick to replace the handle. Same was true when the handle failed the second, third, forth, and fifth time as well. Now, I'm on my sixth handle and it just failed again. Since I'm outside my two-year warranty period, I'll need to purchase a new unit. I'm debaiting if I want to go with the same brand or switch to one that's more durable over the long term.
Pros: cleans exceptionally well
Cons: always breaks

This toothbrush performed great but the only negative I have on this product is that it stopped working after alittle more than a year. It brushed my teeth great and massaged my gums. (I am a dental professional) This toothbrush spoiled me by performing so well. But I am extremely disappointed in a product that cost quite abit for it not to last more than a few months past a year. The motor slowed down and then just quit working. I have been wanting to contact Phillips to see if it is guaranteed or can be repaired but have not had time.
Pros: great product functions well
Cons: the motor seemed to slow down and then quit workin

Item broke right after the year mark

I bought the sonicare item and after a year the portable charger stopped working. Shortly after one of the toothbruses stopped working. Not sure how to replace the battery, I went on the website searching for replacement battery parts but didn't see any. I don't want to purchase a whole new toothbrush especially since it's an expensive item to begin with. To pay this much for an item, it shouldn't break only after a year. I haven't had a chance to call anyone about it and no longer have a receipt or any of the boxes since it's been a while. I do love the sonicare toothbrush but it's not something I will buy again since I had a bad experience with the item lasting.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Performance, TERRIBLE DESIGN!!!

Have used this product twice a day, every day for 10 months. The blue part of the handle has turned into a puddy-like substance over time, which is very disappointing considering the price of this product. Other than the defective handle, this product is wonderful. Better checkups with the dentist, noticeably fresher breath and cleaner teeth.
Pros: great battery life, noticeable improvement in gum health
