I've had the Philips Sonicare toothbrush for a couple of months now and I love it. I feel a big difference when I use my Sonicare Brush!!

My dental student son raved about the sonic toothbrush and bought one for me. I already performed very good oral care twice each day with nightly flossing and gum care. However, my mouth feels as if I have just left the dentist after a cleaning every time I use the Philips toothbrush. It lives up to all the advertising.

Bought on recommendation of my dentist. It works, but how exciting is a toothbrush? Replacement heads are very expensive, especially as compared to a good old fashioned manual toothbrush. My guess is this is the profit margin for the product. Sell the base unit as cheaply as possibly, then collect the profits on the refills that are necessary for continued use.
I do wish Phillips would be more clear about the type of refills that this product requires - i.e. putting a part number or some ID both in the information on the toothbrush instructions, and a more clear identifier on the replacement heads. When it was time to buy replacement heads, it was bewildering to learn how many different (and incompatible) replacement heads for electric toothbrushes were on the market. It took too long for me to finally figure out which type I needed.
Cons: replacement heads very expensive., difficult to identify correct replacement head.

The performance of the Sonicare surpassed my expectations. I am impressed with how clean my teeth feel. I know that I brush my teeth more often since I purchased my Sonicare because it is so easy to use and does such a thorough cleaning of teeth and gums. I wish I had purchased this product much earlier than I did.
