Not great for hard to reach areas

I previously owned an electric toothbrush for 10 years and it served me well. Eventually it began to give out and at that time, about 6 months ago, I decided to try Philips Sonicare as my dentist had been recommending it to me at every visit. I was a little wary because it was more expensive in general, including the price of replacement brush heads compared with my old brush. But I did some research and decided to purchase the Sonicare brush. I've been using it for 6+ months and have not been happy with the performance. The main thing is that I feel like it just isn't cleaning my teeth as well. I could easily reach the backside of my teeth with my old toothbrush and I'm not able to do so as well with the Philips Sonicare brushes. I can feel buildup on my teeth in between dental cleanings, whereas I usually had none or very little before.
Pros: nice travel system
Cons: doesn't clean as well as competition
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello,
We’re sorry for the disappointment you’ve had with our Philips sonic toothbrush.
Philips Sonicare brushes are designed to work in your mouth without too much effort on your part.
To use:
1. Wet the bristles and apply a small amount of toothpaste.
2. Place the toothbrush bristles against the teeth at a slight angle towards the gumline.
3. Press the power on/off button to turn on the Sonicare.
4. Apply light pressure to maximize Sonicare’s effectiveness and let the Sonicare toothbrush do the brushing for you.
5. Gently move the brush head slowly across the teeth in a small back and forth motion so the longer bristles reach between your teeth.
6. Continue this motion throughout your brushing cycle.
Tips for use: Before switching the toothbrush on, place the bristles of the brush head on your gum line at a 45-degree angle.
1. Close your mouth as much as needed to prevent toothpaste splattering. Turn the brush on.
2. Hold the handle with a light grip. Do not grip the handle, but hold in gently at the edges. Switch the toothbrush on, and glide the brush across your teeth, gently, allowing the brush to do the work.
3. To maximize effectiveness apply only light pressure and let the toothbrush do the brushing for you.
4. Do not scrub.
5. To make sure you brush evenly throughout the mouth, divide your mouth into 4 sections using the Quadpacer feature.

This is my 2nd Flexcare. In gum care mode, I cannot detect the 45 second timer for switching area to brush. The first one was very easy todetect.

I have had two of the brush tips come apart when I tried to take them off the motor. This makes the UV brush sterilizer pointless and a waste of money.

Love the way it feels and does and excellant job in brushing your teeth leaving it nice and clean. My gums feel great with it. Might need to be egonomically designed better to have a better hold on it.

I love my Phillips Sonicare brush. I've seen a big change in my teeth. So easy to use and you know your getting the right amount of brush time with the built in timer. Wish i had had one of these years ago i may still have all my teeth. At least now i can save the ones i have left and have a healther smile.
