This unite seems to be working ok for now, however this is the second replacement of your product and is now out of warranty.
Given the failure of two units within a one year period I can not see myself spending more money replacing this one (if it fails) with another Sonicare.
Not a good quality track record in my opinion, especially with the cost of the Sonicare products. My wife and I will probably be looking at another brand for our future purchases of rechargeable toothbrushes.
Pros: excellent cleaning when its works
Cons: poor quality

battery/battery life

Love the ease of use but hate the battery life. It didn't last more than a month. Changing the battery is horrible. It says to use a flat head screwdriver to rotate the plastic bottom. You end up scratching your toothbrush. I was never able to take out the battery because it fell apart.
I paid way to much money for it to last less than a month.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Replacement for Unit

I needed to have most of my unit replaced within the 1st 6 months of ownership. One brush base died within a month, and then the sanitizer died also. I had purchased replacement bulbs for the sanitizer and I thought it was all 3 bulbs were bad until I called Phillips.
The customer service folks are great, their product isn't.
The new sanitizer is better than the older design and the new brush base works, but I do not trust just how long the other brush base will last and if the sanitizer will hold up. They give a 2 year warrantee but my other toothbrush systems last 2 years and maybe 2 months prior to completely dying. We are only 2 adult people in my household and brush our teeth 2xs a day, nothing excessive. We have never dropped the brushes or units and I keep everything very clean, so I can only believe it is bad manufacturing and bad designing.
I have been using Sonicare toothbrushes for 10+ years, but this will be the last one I purchase, as the produce manufacturing is get extremely shotty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Plillips sonicare toothbrush

We have had nothing but problems. First problem was the actual bash of the toothbrush and now the light bulb. We have ordered a new bulb, but it hasn't gotten here yet. The shipping was a horrible price.

Product stopped working after a few months

While it worked it was great. Then it started vibrating and making a strange beeping sound when put in the charger. It also no longer charges. For this kind of money, they should make something that works more than a few months.
Pros: uv cleaner works great
Cons: toothbrush refuses to charge

Please try to reset the toothbrush by pressing and holding the power button while the brush is on the charger. Your Philips Sonicare Toothbrush has a 2-year manufacturers warranty, you can contact customer support at 800-682-7664

brush heads fall off while brushing

Brush heads don't fit on properly and fall off while brushing. I like the original sonicare that screwed on much better.
Cons: lousy design

Love the toothbrush, however...

Love the toothbrush, however the sanitizer portion ceased working after only 5 uses. Instruction book says replace UV bulb which can only be obtained by calling the consumer care center and is not covered under warranty.
Would have given 5 star rating if not for this. While I highly recommend the Sonicare brush systems - I have to say the extra money spent for one with a sanitizer is a total waste.
Hopefully this brush will last as long as my previous Sonicare did (years!)
Pros: the brush system is great and i love it, two brush sizes, small brush great for hard to reach areas
Cons: sanitizer quit after 5 uses
