Phillips Sonicare Critique

Good performance & ease of use. Unfortunately the brush head has loosened when attached to the handle. The unit is gradually vibrating louder & louder....deja vu! This has happened before with my wife's toothbrush & mine. Both were replaced under warranty a few months ago & now apparently, BOTH are deteriorating rapidly AGAIN as a result of the same defect!
Pros: good product concept
Cons: needs better quality control, needs wider base for standing - longer vertical pi
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product

I have been using a Sonicare for about thirteen years now and cannot imagine my daily routine without it. Once you get used to the clean feeling from using a Sonicare, there is no going back to a manual toothbrush.
Pros: great clean feeling
Cons: only lasted about a year

The second tooth brush does not hold a charge. It must be charged after each use.
I love my new Sonicare. Especially like not having to charge it and use a cord.
Pros: no cord, compact size w/brush cover
Cons: none
I would recommend this to a friend!

This Phillips Sonicare toothbrush replaced a much older model. My new toothbrush is slim and lightweight but more powerful with longer time intervals between battery chargings. This model has a battery charge level indicator on the handle so I will never be caught with a "dead battery". I like the brush head shape and slim neck. The attachment of the brush to body features an "o-ring" seal, which I appreciate, to keep moisture and mineral build-up out of the main body. When I travel I always take my Sonicare toothbrush, brushing my teeth "by hand" just does not seem as effective anymore, so the hard travel case will be called on. Overall the design, size, shape, and quality of this product has exceeded my expectations. Based on the long life and reliability of my last Phillips Sonicare toothbrush, I expect to be pleased for years to come.
I would recommend this to a friend!

STERILIZER DESIGN AND RELIABILITY IS POOR
on October 11, 2011

This is the second unit I have tried and the sterilizer switch merchanism failed after 11 months. The toothbrush and charging unit itself is superb and well worth the money. But spending the additional money for the sterilizer is not prudent.
