This is my second Sonicare tooth brush. As with the first, it does an excellent job in cleaning my teeth and keeping my gums healthy.

Exceptional well-designed device. Originally recommended by my dentist over 2 years ago. A price on its head, but you get what you pay for. I have never looked back! And my teeth have benefitted tremendously since, according to both myself and my dentist!
Pros: accessibility to all cleaning areas

Upon the recommendation of my periodontist, I purchased this product and immediately saw and felt good results. I really like the uv brush sanitizer component. I would recommend this product to friends and family.

Not Sure How I Survived without It

I switched to this toothbrush from a battery-operated one, and I love it. It does a much better job of cleaning my teeth, and my gums feel much healthier. (I had gingivitis before, according to my dentist. We'll see what he says when I go back in a few months.) Also, I love that I can charge it instead of changing batteries, and the carrying case is very convenient for travel.
Pros: comes with carrying case, gum care mode
I would recommend this to a friend!

Many useful features and does NOT require a smart phone!

I have used a competitors toothbrush for he past 10 years. The competitors tooth brush is still working. However , I read some good things about the Sonicare electric tooth brushes so decided to upgrade to a later model toothbrush. The thing that turned me off most about the latest competitor models is that they require a computer (which I have) and a smart phone (which I do not have).
The Sonicare powers the brush at much greater speed then the new competitor models, which should result in less plaque on the teeth. It also has several useful features (like sounding a warning when too much pressure is used while brushing, shuting off after 2 minutes to eliminate need for an external time measurement, and making a provision to sanitize brushes between brushings etc.) and does NOT require a smart phone to use them.
Up to now, I am very satisfied with my new Sonicare electric toothbrush. However, as I read other ONLINE revues, it seems that most complaints are about early life failures that occur in a year or less. If my Sonicare fails in less than 2 years, I'll probably go back to using my OLD toothbrush. I'll also update this revue if that's possible at that time.

Purchased the toothbrush three years ago. Used it everyday and loved it so much even took it to Europe with me twice. Only drawback is it only lasted three years. I had to buy a replacement handle for it. :(

i have used a Sonicare for years and this is my favorite yet. the only issue i have with this model is that you can sometimes accidentally hit the button and turn the brush off while using it. Its not a big problem as the brush will continue in the cycle where you left off.

this product does not last

I went through 2 of this toothbrush in the last 3 years. The battery is horrible and the mode selection is very defective. My first one, the mode selection broke (can't see your selection) and the battery require charging after couple days. Since it was under warranty, I send it back and they mailed me another one but it only lasted for another 9 months or so. Shortly after, I got another one as a gift and that lasted a little after 1 year with the mode selection thing not lighting up first, then the battery stopped charging. It's a great product and cleans the teeth well (esp for sensitive gums) but I wish it was more durable. I don't expect it to last forever but with this price, i was hoping it will last longer than 1 year.

Hello,

We’re sorry for the disappointment you’ve had with our Philips Sonicare Sonic toothbrush.

You may select the appropriate brushing modes prior to turning on the Sonicare.

Please ensure the correct button is being pushed (power button vs. mode button). The mode button will not turn the handle on. Also, if there is not a brush head on the handle it may not be easily heard. Try placing a brush head on the handle and turning it on. A final option is to place the handle in the charger and charge for 24 hours before turning it back on.

For most Sonicare toothbrushes, use the following general procedure.

1. Plug the charger into a live electrical power outlet.

2. Place the handle on the charger.

3. The flashing light on the handle indicates that the toothbrush is charging.

Note: It takes at least 24 hours to fully charge the battery.

For PowerUp, the procedure for checking to see if the handle is charging is different.

1. Plug the charger into an outlet that you know is live.

2. Place the handle on the charger.

3. With the handle on the charger, press the on/off button. The handle should not activate when it is charging normally.

4. It takes approximately 30 hours to fully charge the battery.

Please note: In step 3 above, if the handle does activate on the charger, you may not have the charger plugged into a live outlet. To confirm that the charger is plugged into a live outlet, repeat steps 1-3 using a different power outlet. If you repeat the procedure and your handle continues to activate while on the charger, contact the Philips call center for instructions.
