I had one of the old Sonicare for quite a few years. When I got one of the newer models and removed the head for the first time to clean it in the ultraviolet light cleaning station, it would not go back on the toothbrush and stay on afterwards. I called the company to see if I was putting it on wrong, but apparently when I had taken it off I had broken the toothbrush head. I did not use force to take off the head I simply turned it a little and then pulled up. I later realized you only need to pull up, but after so many years of twisting off I was used to that motion. I don't think that the sonic care should break so easily when the heads cost so much money. The company was kind enough to send me a replacement head, but I still felt like most consumers would have just bought a new one and that it is their faulty product. It does brush well, but I have only used the soniccare electric toothbrushes, since they are what was gifted to me, so I cannot compare to another brand electric toothbrush.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Like the drip tray which my previous electric toothbrush did not have and like the sterilizing feature.
Pros: easy to operate

Already. Had competitor product. Happier now. Also pleased with customer service since first handle not working as it should and a replacement sent in a few days. No problems, so easy.

Great toothbrush, the best electric brush I have ever had.

The toothbrush works very well and is easy to use. Since using the brush my gum health has improved signifinicantly. However, the life of the product is not great. The battery life especially is poor, it seems to burn out every time just when the warranty has expired.
Pros: great brushing action.
Cons: battery life poor

Awesome product. Was perfect for enhancing gum and general mouth health. Had it for at least 5 years. Battery was lasting at least a full week so perfect for travelling. Enjoyed the different setting. Very user friendly. Girlfriend was jealous, had to get her own for Christmas. A bit pricey but worth every penny. Only downfall, the metal head to which we attach the tooth brush head gave up .it appears that after so many years of pulsing and strong vibration finally made it brake by the inside of the handle. Was very upset but gave me a reason to get the newer black version. I just hope this one will not snap on me.....
Pros: efficacity and battery charge.
Cons: brush attachment part snapped after about 5 years.
