Solar charger is dumb
on August 31, 2011

I like the idea behind this phone concept with the recycled parts and packaging. But the solar charge is pretty worthless. You cannot tell if it is taking a charge. I haven't noticed that a charge has actually happened. Also, after about 20min in the sun one day, the battery icon blink red and said TOO HOT. What is the point of a solar charger that can't handle 20min of sunshine?

Lack of usability
on August 27, 2011

I like the Samsung Replenish. Unfortunately, the battery usage is absolutely atrocious! I remove my phone from charger at 8am and by 12 noon, it is in the red zone! On top of that, it takes HOURS to recharge the battery so I effectively am without the use of my phone. Additionally, if the battery gets too hot or too cool, it will stop charging.
This phone is a serious battery junkie! I miss my Palm!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, usability
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does not come close to any other droid. I regret my purchase. I've owned other Samsung phones in the past and been happy with them, but with this one, I have little to nothing positive to say about it.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, inadequate camera, have to keep constantly plugged in or dies, difficult to hear on calls
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this phone!

I'm not a big cell phone user -- I use it mainly for texting my kids and internet access. I'm deaf so I use the Sprint Relay Data Only plan and it works perfectly for my needs.
I switched to this phone from a Blackberry. Because I use it for texting, I really like having an actual keyboard on the phone. I was ready to move up to an Android phone, though, and when I saw this phone which has a combo touch screen and keyboard on the bottom, I was excited.
So far I have been completely satisfied with the Samsung Replenish. It is MUCH faster than the Blackberry, does everything I need it to (and does it well), battery life is comparable to what I used to have, and the keyboard is easy to use. I highly recommend it!

i love my new phone so easy to use . love the key pad awsome texting is so much easier and faster
I previously had another brand of smartphone which I apparently can't mention here and coming from that phone to this Samsung has been extremely frustrating. I am going to be taking this phone back in. I have had it for 10 days and really can't stand it. Overall the design is fine. I like the keyboard. Picture quality is good, when it finally loads up that is. Sounds is fine. Interface for the most part is easy to use.
Dislikes: The battery runs down extremely fast and I only added two apps on here. I also went in and changed settings to try and minimize the amount of juice being used but that has not made much of a difference. I had multiple running apps on my last phone and did not have to carry the charger around and plug the phone in during the day like I have to with this phone.
Notifications and Alerts - I really HATE that you are not able to set up separate, customized alerts for email, texts and voicemails. I do not want an audible alert for every email I receive but I do want one for texts. As it is now, I have to shut off the volume for the alerts and then keep checking my phone to make sure I don't miss any texts because I get multiple emails and don't want it beeping all the time.
Randomly sounding alerts and there are no emails or texts - This is also driving me crazy. The phone randomly gives off alerts but when I check, there are no new emails or texts.
Syncing with email - this is where I REALLY REALLY miss my old phone. The Replenish does not update emails in a timely manner at all. Sometimes if goes several hours without syncing the accounts. I find this extremely irritating since I need to get my work emails in a timely manner. I also do not like that there is no option to delete emails from the actual account when I have deleted it from the phone. I loved that feature on my old phone because I didn't have to log in separately to my email accounts to clean them out. Talk about a huge time saver! I could do it all at one time.
Text messaging - this has also been very annoying - I will be in the middle of typing a text message and all of a sudden it will send the text before I am done. I have been careful to make sure I am not hitting the send button but it has been happening.
Phone calls cutting off - I have been in the middle of a conversation or checking voicemail a couple of times, when an alert has come in for a text or email and the phone hangs up.
Slow connection - I don't know if this is a Sprint issue or a phone issue but even when I am in areas where it indicates that I have full service, if I am checking Facebook or meetup, it takes an extremely long time to connect.
Overall, while the phone looks nice and I applaud the use of recycled materials, I would not recommend this phone to anyone. I just do not find it as functional or efficient as I need it to be. I also do not like that it doesn't offer more setting options.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, battery drains to quickly, cannot customize alert settings, random alerts but no emails or texts, big delays in email notifications
