CNet is Right and Wrong

I bought this phone for the keyboard, the black and blue color, the green aspect and 10 dollar a month savings from Sprint. I didn't know much about Android vs. anything else - I wasn't going to pay for an iPhone, and I wanted to be different from the crowd so the typical black box wasn't for me, even if they're better phones. I considered the Blackberry Style, but the lack of a touch screen ruled it out. One feature that would be nice for the future would be a front facing camera for Skype, but I'm o.k. for now.
The Replenish has some nice features like linked contacts, can be used as a wifi hotspot, and more. Is 4G worth it if it drains the battery? Hmm. On the minus side the camera is mediocre though usable - not too sharp but handles exposure well enough. Also the lack of Flash support in the browser is a bit of a disappointment, as Cnet mentioned, though you can visit YouTube and the phone will play the videos offline automatically. Where Cnet is wrong is about the build quality and keyboard - it has a very solid feel and the keyboard is as good as any Blackberry. The screen is obviously a little small compared to phones without a keyboard, and this makes using the touch screen a little harder than a phone with more screen real estate, but text is sharp and easy to read at almost any size.
Internal memory is a bit small, so if you want a bunch of apps you'll find yourself going to app manager and switching as many as you can to the SD card. Not all apps are movable though. I fit all the apps I want for now on it, a total of 68, including most of the green ID. Finally if you're curious about what media is supported here's the official link - http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa/jsp/faqs/faqs_view_us.jsp?SITE_ID=22&PG_ID=2&PROD_SUB_ID=557&PROD_ID=559&AT_ID=373374.
They could make this info a little easier to find. Basically for your own video mp4 is the way to go, 320x240, at about a 256k bitrate to keep the size down. The camera records video in .3GP BTW.
Overall I expect to be pretty happy with this phone as my first Android. The rubberized edge case is also a good accessory.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, stylish
Cons: no flash support in browser, smallish internal memory
I would recommend this to a friend!

Going Back to Basics

I purchased this phone, replacing my BlackBerry Curve. I loved my Curve with the exception that I always had to reboot because it would freeze. I did not take to the Replenish at first because of the touch screen feature. Try texting with acrylic nails! Now having owned it for three weeks, I could not imagine having any other phone.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: battery life

It's has all the perks I like EXCEPT I cannot play my board games such as scrabble or words with friends....if I could have that on the phone, I would have to put my iPod away..
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: cannot access all games

First smartphone in 10 years

I like simplicity but this phone can be more advanced than some people may realize. It's not hard to use but it did take me some practice (about one hour) before I was able to use its full potential. Only real bad thing is I cannot connect to Windows XP via USB. It really is hard to put down. Unlimited data plan really helps keep the monthly bill down. I love Android; thanks Google!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight, wi-fi enabled
Cons: 3g too slow

Coming from the Reclaim to the Replenish this was great. This is my first touch screen phone and I didn't want to let the keyboard go and this was the perfect replacement. The phone is great and I love all the new features. The battery does drain fast but with all the apps I have running I know why. Overall I love the phone with the cool blue color.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: buttons are smaller than the reclaim

I regret this phone

Got 3 of these phone for my family and I've regretted the decision. I bought it thinking I was getting a good product for a good price but it turns out you really do get what you pay for. The phone is ok for a first time smartphone user but after a few months you begin to see the inadaquacies. The phone has less than half the storage of its competitors so even with a memory card, you can only have a few selected apps (some apps like Facebook & other games work horribly on this device). I've had to delete apps on a regular basis just to keep the phone from shutting down 2-3 times per day. When it shuts down it frequently forgets some of your settings so you have to reset them multiple times per day. Please don't buy!
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, doesn't work well, too little storage, extremely glitchy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
