Looks Great!

This microwave replaced an older GE Profile that we had for 15 years. It does some things that the old one didn't do and the new one doesn't do some things that the old one did. So there are some trade offs. I'm still learning about the different cooking options it has. The "soften" feature is great and I use that a lot. I've only used the "My Plate" feature once and was not successful as the reheated food was like rubber. Other features that I have used I've not had any problems.
My husband installed our old one and he installed the new as well. He did notice that the microwave is not made as sturdy as the old one and feels that it won't last as long as our old Profile. He did note the new microwave fit perfectly on the old back wall plate; however, he did have to drill new holes to secure the bolts in the bottom of the cabinet over the stove which was no big deal.
Our new microwave is now 2 months old and we've already had to replace a halogen light bulb. Granted light bulbs can go at any time but the connection that the bulb goes into is not secured well and if you apply too much pressure to push the bulb in you will break the whole light fixture. Also Halogen bulbs get very hot. I'm surprised that LED lights were not used.
While I really like the dark interior for cleaning purposes, I do not like the dark control panel. I have to agree with other reviewers that it is very difficult to see at night, and hope that GE will correct this in future.
I did a lot of research on all the different microwave brands available before choosing this GE Profile which I feel was the best model with the features I was looking for.

I bought this a 3 months ago. The door has an align problem, which means not even with the closing body.
I have called the service which they found, the main shaft problem. No way to repair, has to be replaced.

This microwave is very easy to use without reading manual. It heats adequately although my old GE Profile was a bit higher wattage. I was disappointed that the style had changed and it doesn't match my other Profile appliances. Also the interior is now black and it seems very dark inside but it doesnt show food splatters as much.

Nice features like timer, 30 sec button, popcorn button. Heats evenly, not too loud. The interior was a little darker than I'd like, hard to see your food... Could use stronger bulb.

Good, but old one better

Had Profile Spacemaker 2.0 for many years. Great machine. Tnhe new one is sleek looking and the limited number of features we need work well.
But... The power cord was a foot shorter, requiring me to cut the cord off the old machine and splice it to the new cord. Control panel back lighting has been eliminated.
One wonders what other "save a few pennies" shortcuts have been taken inside.

Second time purchasing!

We LOVE our GE profile microwave. We bought our first 10 years ago and it was still running great; however, we had a fire in our home and had to replace. Without question, this microwave has lasted and has proven strong quality and reliability. We could not be more pleased.

Great microwave, plenty of room inside. Has a button to just re-heat a beverage, has simple to use directions, the settings are wonderful & using the correct setting results in food done just perfectly. It performs better than my expectations. Very happy with this purchase.
