Two GE Microwaves in 5 Years

Bought 2 years 2 weeks ago. Another touchpad went out. That's the same problem on two GE over the-range microwave.

Not bad but don't like as much as predecessor

I like this one ok but I preferred the old one that I had. I tried to get exactly the same replacement. However, the new one has a black interior, whereas I liked the white interior of the old one better. Also, this one has only 1000 W, whereas the old one had 1100 W, which I prefer. Also, the door closes way to hard on this one (my main complaint). Other than that, this one is decent (if too expensive!).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not as good quality as my previous GE microwave . Interior lighting is dim due to black interior vs light color. Metal case is not solid sounding when closing door. Functions seem to be ok but button display is less user friendly. More expensive than prior microwave . (A GE profile series SpacemakerXL 1800!

To many features

I Would like to have product with a few buttons to push.. This micro has to many of them, there are settings pretty complicated. What's the joy if using it I have to look for my reading glasses and manuals all the time ? It's white outside but ugly dark blue inside. When in use the insight light gives an impression like the door outside has some dirty stripes.

Nice Microwave

This was a replacement for our old microwave. The watts are 1000 which is 100 less than the old model. Have a slight learning curve since the wattage is less. Other than that it appears to work properly. Would be nice if ge would standardize the microwaves so the existing holes would fit the new unit. Had to drill all new holes.

Step backwards

The only reason I bought this microwave is to match the other Profile brand appliances that I have in the kitchen. And it does not even say "Profile" on it. Are you kdding me?
Also, it is more noisy than my previous Profile and it does not seem as powerful (takes longer to heat food)

Nice Unit

I have had this model for a few months. Performing well. Use it for re-heating, popcorn. Is powerful. May trying using it to cook something in it one day. So far have not needed the exhaust fan, but is available when needed. Exhaust is noisy. The surface light is very useful.

Our GE Spacemaker over the range microwave quit working, after at least 20 years of use. We needed to replace, reviewed products on the website, and contacted customer service for recommendations for comparable quality and dimensions to fit our space. We just remodeled the kitchen and the new granite backsplash and existing cabinets were just about flush with the existing microwave.
Customer service responded within 3 days that any of the new models could work in our current space. We would need to use the mounting brackets and hardware that come with the new microwave because the mounting kits have changed over the years and are not interchangeable.
I was still nervous, but all correct! We purchased the Profile 1.9 OTR Microwave. It was delivered this afternoon and my husband already installed it. It fit perfectly.
Thank you GE for not messing with the dimensions so we can confidently purchase replacements!
I will update this review after a few weeks of actual use.
