if you have a newer tv the player hooked up fast and works great. i purchased it mainly for net flicks. the only issue i have with it is that if you have an older surround sound system, you have issues in setting it up. the older blue ray i had, had three wires for audio output and so did my receiver. in order for me to get any audio i had to place one wire from my receiver to my tv..which is also a sony bravia to get any audio. it works but i'm not gertting the surround sound that i used to get with the older blueray that i replaced. if you have a newer tv,,it's a simple easy setup an older one is kind of...frustrating

I like that it is small, lightweight and works flawlessly--all for a reasonable price. But it is difficult to find the instructions for setting up the TV control buttons on the Blue Ray player remote. These instructions are only in the online manual and they are hard to find at the end of the manual. These instructions should be included in the quick setup instructions provided with the unit.

It works great. I didn't know it would pick up the signal from the internet and display it on the TV. That is real handy. The only downside is that I can not hook up my stereo system to use other speakers like I can with my regular DVD player.

I love the quick access to all my favorite apps, but it does not work consistently. It frequently freezes, and the only fix is a "hard reboot" aka unplugging it for a minute. App response is also sluggish and sometimes leaves me wondering if they will even open. I don't feel like shelling out extra cash for a different player, and I'm a (usually) a fairly patient person, so I'm going to keep it--for now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
