Product works fine.........new DVD players look a little like you got short-changed on your purchase, compared to the old ones, but that's the new look/technology!!!

Blank Screen

We had no issues connecting to the internet, or watching movies on Netflix and such. But the screen goes blank while watching Netflix, just goes black, no sound, so message, just black. It can not be our cable because we use the cable for the Geni too. We have not tried to watch DVD's or blue rays yet. I may be taking this back to the store if I cant stop it from going black.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Riehl, it is sad to hear that the unit doesn’t go well. Please perform the steps below: -Using the supplied remote, press the HOME button. -Select Setup. -Select Software Update. IMPORTANT: Do not cancel or disrupt the update process by either turning off the Blu-ray Disc Player or disconnecting the Internet connection.
If the issue is not resolved after trying the steps above, service may be required. Please visit eservice.sony.com to process the repair.
If you value your sanity, stay far away from here.

My roommate and I purchased this blu-ray player, plugged it into our TV and Internet router, and have been coming up with things that would be easier and more user friendly for 2 hours. The first problem we encountered was that the moment it was powered up, it said it needed a software update. So we tried to update. Ha. Easier said then done. Every time we tried to update, it said that the Internet wasn't connected, but when we tried to connect to the Internet, it claimed it was connected. Also, there was not a number for technical support. We tried to put in a disc to see if that worked; the player tried to eat my disc. I had to unplug it before the fiend would release it. Most frustrating purchase I have ever made, and I intend to exchange it for something that actually works. (Also, the remote only works half the time)
