I would have given this product 5 stars but I do not like such a small remote control, other than that it's perfect
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello Goldburg! Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, we will forward the information regarding the remote commander to the proper department for future reference.
Nice little machine. Compared to our BDP-S5100 this one is smaller & better looking in my opinion. It lacks the LCD on the front but has a better user interface on the TV.
Wish it were faster though. Also wish the TV SideView app's keyboard would be active more often -- when you're searching on Netflix for instance.

Hi TedG, we appreciate you taking the time in sharing your feedback with us. We will forward these to the proper department. Thank you!
I would have given this player five stars except for the fact that it does not have access to a QWERTY keyboard for search purposes. Other than that, it is as advertised.

Hello BigL54! Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, we will forward this information to the proper department. We would like to also suggest to try using the remote application TV Side View with any available mobile device, which will allow easier typing using the full QWERTY touchscreen keyboard. I have an existing Sony BDP that works like a charm. This one has several issues. The firmware freezes up occasionally. The Netflix button needs top be hit twice to get it to start. I don't have those issues with my earlier BDP
As a Blu-Ray player the BDPS5500 is good. If you're looking for Apps beware. The device chooses your language, apps, etc. for you. If, like me, you live in the US but have a home elsewhere do not plan to use the apps you prefer in the US while elsewhere. At my home in Mexico all apps show up as Mexican and in Spanish. No choices, no changing. Given that buy a cheap Blu-Ray player that performs as a player and get your app access another way. Save the money!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Couldn't believe how small this was compared to my past players but packs a punch and so easy to navigate. Good job Sony!
