Hi Ham Al, Sony takes into consideration all feedback to improve the performance and quality of our products and services. We're always looking to make Sony better. We appreciate your time sharing this feedback. Thanks! ~Erin
When I first purchase it, I thought "Great a Sony product, I shouldn't have to replace this anytime soon!" Well although the BRP works well and picture quality is excellent, my issues seem to be with the Apps. I bought this for my bedroom, after two Toshiba's crashed in two years. I have a PS3 & Sony 5.1 SS and have never had a problem. But this unit just keeps locking up on Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, Web browser. I think its a memory problem. I either have to reset the entire unit (3 times in less than a year) or go through all of my apps and erase history. That doesn't work quite as well, but it is easier than having to input all the information again. I came on this site today to get support to remove the apps I never use and prevent it from adding new ones on updates. Wish me luck!
I purchased this DVD player 6 months ago and am just getting it installed in my new remodel. It performs up to expectations and I'm very pleased with it

So far so good. Wireless network set-up was intuitive and we were viewing Netflix, Qello, YouTube and other apps in no time. The unit is much smaller and lighter than my previous Sony Blu-Ray player, but it is more web friendly with its Opera browser, etc. Good job, Sony.

Hi Aube1, Thank you for letting us know what pleases you on this Blu-ray Player. Thank you for the review, we appreciate it.
This Blu-ray player is more than just a player. The added Wifi connection makes it a resource for more entertainment.
The Wifi setup was easy once the player was updated with the current software. Unfortunately the update had to be completed from a downloaded copy from Sony to a data stick. The directions for this process were different depending on the material located and the actual process was not exactly as the instructions documented. Once updated it was necessary to restart the player before the connection could again be attempted. But once completed, great interface.
Perhaps the best additional feature is the remote. It, with simple programming, provides remote access to the the TV, but only for the items needed to get to the DVD player. It allows the user to turn on the TV, select the player's channel, and adjust the volume from the Player remote. It is so great not to have to mess with both the TV and Player remotes!!
I am still learning about the player and have things I want to try such as using a phone or other wefi device as an interface but, so far, would recommend this player to anyone looking to upgrade from a DVD player, replace a player, or as a first Blu-ray player.
I would recommend this to a friend!
