Started rusting after 2 weeks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this for our home a few weeks ago and after only 2 weeks, the entire thing is rusting. The vent cover is fine but the actual hood has rusted top to bottom. It hasn't been exposed to any water and our home is brand new. Has anyone else had this happen to them. Also, Can someone contact me about the issue from Kitchenaid?

The control housing part is is made of plastic!!!

I echo the frustration from the other reviews that such an expensive unit made the housing control part out of plastic. This part has broken twice in 2 years. I'm replacing it again.

Problem with the switch

Plastic part on the inside broke and screw fell out which caused switch to become loose. Called warranty Dept and had service come to fix but took 2 appointment because the first time, the person came without any parts, not even a screw. Also expected new warming lamps as the red wore off of the bulb which in turns deems the "warming" useless. Still waiting for service company to come back a fourth time to replace.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
