I wanted to love this phone

I really like the look and size of the phone, and my primary reason for buying it was the battery - which is NOT as good as it is made out to be. I have to charge it daily, had to buy an extra battery AND a portable battery charger. It died on me twice after a full charge and without me TALKING on it! I don't overcharge it and when the thing says 'charged' I remove the charger immediately. It is easy for me to use since I've had other LG phones; conversation is ok. My dtr said she sometimes can't hear me unless I use the earbud. It does not hang up sometimes, needs to have the battery removed to reboot. It does not stop on its own like others complain about but it does freeze - often and that's when I have to remove and replace the battery. Starting up the phone is a problem. Takes about 5 minutes to actually start. I've never seen a phone so slow to log on and that bothers me since I can't need to use it right away because it does not turn on immediately like any of my other phones. I may have to return it for service.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings

Spent a ridiculous amount so I wanted to love it. Did at first, then it began to shut off, or just screen would go black while typing. Often had to take battery off to reboot completely when froze up. Takes MINUTES to restart - if you have to make emergency call ~ you will be dead. Manufacturer replaced once, was unable to transfer pics & emails from old phone to new. New phone as bad as the first if not worse since new battery won't hold a charge, had to go to specialty store to replace it. FRUSTRATING waste of $
Pros: unreliable

This Phone Is Garbage

Owned this phone since Feb '12, it's now May '13 and I can't wait to be rid of this phone. It may be the first dual core processing phone, but it lags out constantly. I can't stress that point enough. The lag is enough to make me want to throw this phone against a wall sometimes. I have to reset this phone at least once a day to keep it running smoothly. GPS works ok, until it doesn't and I have to reset the phone to get a good, reliable GPS location on the phone. Call quality is ok. It's not that old of a phone, but for whatever reason it's only being updated to Android 2.3.4. Will never buy another LG product again because of this garbage phone.
Pros: garbage

Seemed like a good phone at first, but

It seemed like a great phone at first, but the issues went on and on. First issue was freezing and I had to remove the battery to restart. Then I had issues trying to edit phone number/contacts. The software to sync the phone to my computer never worked properly. I was never able to update the phone, kept coming up with errors that could not be resolved. The microphone quit working and could not use the hands free speaker function anymore. Later the phone functions started getting quirky, sometimes it was hard to hang up a call.
Pros: easy to use

Nice specs, very bad software

Pros: Very fast, nice screen, good GPS. Cons: factory software is junkie. Sound and camera are not that great.
Bottom line: don't buy this phone if you don't know how to load custom ROM into it. Mine works awesome after I dumped the factory software and loaded it with Cyanogen mod 7.2.0 RC2.
Pros: Performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst Phone

I have had nothing but problems with the LG G2X ever since I first purchased it in 2011. It drops calls all the time, even in 4g network areas, I will randomly have voicemails where the phone doesn't even ring, it freezes constantly, shuts down unexpectedly, and does random things on its own. At first I thought maybe I had dropped the phone and messed something up, but I have replaced this phone a total of THREE times with NO change. None of them has ever had water damage, or been cracked or broken. So it has to be the phone itself. Will never recommend this phone to anyone, plan on having it replaced a soon as I am able!

This phone, when I purchased it, rebooted constantly. It had lots of freezing, and forced closings. Sure it's quick, but quick isn't great if it doesn't work right. I had to mod my phone to get it to work better. It's still not 100% but it's better. It still reboots whenever it wants to (even in the middle of calls.) I was looking forward to the ICS update, but I recently read the G2X won't be seeing this update. I have to say, I'll never own another LG phone, if they keep making phones like they made this one.

Nice phone but issues

I've had this phone for about 3 months now. I mostly like it but there have been issues. It seems that when the Google Accounts go to sync the phone tends to lock up. Then I have many Force Close messages.
