Good phone, but horrible manufacture support

So, I already wrote a review and it got rejected. I will try again, and I will say the same thing, as I most certainly did not violate the terms and review guidelines.
The LG P999 is overall a good phone. It has good processing power and usability for its price range. I love the features built into the phone.
However, the complete lack of support from the manufacturer is appalling. Not ONCE since I got this phone, have I been able to update it; a feature which this phone was sold to me as having. Other versions of the same phone have got at least an ICS update, but I am stuck on 2.2.3, which is also preventing me from getting some of the newer games on the store.
Before I realized that LG did not care about this device, I actually recommended it to people who bought it. I now wish I never did that, as the supposed feature of updating was never to be used.
The phone is limited as a result, so there is no way that I recommend anyone to purchase this device.
Pros: Performance, Quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not functional. Poor Support.

This phone looks good paper, but that's where it ends.
On stock firmware, the phone would randomly reboot, GPS would not lock on, and sometimes the battery would have to be removed in order to reboot the phone.
LG made a Gingerbread update available with a new baseband (March 2012), which I was not able to flash to the device (LG Mobile Updater tool repeatedly informed me that my device was up to date).
I found another way to flash the update, and everything the update claims to fix is still not functional. The phone randomly reboots, freezes regularly (RAM management issues?), and the GPS still can't lock on.
It's not even a functional product. I will never buy an LG product ever again in my life, and will inform others about this piece of garbage.

Last "LG" Phone!
on April 12, 2012

This will be my last "LG" phone!
1. Lockup issues--yeah, yeah...take the battery out 10-12 per day!
2. Won't support the latest Android OS software--still lagging behind its competitors.
LG will do nothing to support its phones.
For that...I'm out!

Terrible support.

I purchased this phone less than a year ago, and it's already completely obsolete because it doesn't support Android 4.0 or 4.1, and it's stuck with 2.3.4. I didn't know much about Android versions and lack of update support when I purchased it, and I really should have, because now I'm stuck with this phone until I can get a new one. The phone is OK at what it does, and it's nice-looking and at least somewhat comfortable to use (not as much as an iPhone). However, the lack of Android update support makes this a complete waste of time. Do yourself a favor and make sure you can get a phone that can update itself when new system updates are released, and avoid this one like the plague.

This phone was junk from day one. It shuts itself down, locks up at LEAST 5 times per day requiring me to pull the battery out. It's actually frozen as we speak! GARBAGE.

Awsome and very impressed in the begining, loveing the dual core and the ability to do multipe tasks. shortly after a new version update problems began !!
Phone began turning it self off at random several times a day, freezes, fore closeing. It has been a wonderful smartphone. However it's turned downhill and fast, battery life is terrrible will not last all day have to charge it multipe times. Ouickly overheates and gets really hot !! Forcloses, freezes, consistantly charing multipe times. love the phone but it needs to help.
Pros: Style/Design

great product but no updates...

the phone is really good the problem is lg deciding not to update it and it is extremely sad because this phone was the 1st dual core phone available and is being put in the trash category because it only got 2 minor updates in its about 2 year life spam when it should have been updated regularly to the latest ver and worked out the glitches it had because this phone has the potential.....
Pros: easy to use, Quality

This phone belongs in the trash

I can't say enough how much this phone just belongs in the garbage. The random battery drainage, the constant freezing up, and having to re-start it several times a day. I have had it replaced one time already and the second one is as bad as the first one was. Never again will I buy any LG phone. It has been nothing but a headache and a constant frustration!
