Bad Quality, worst product ever.

I tried to set up two of these printers and both times it tells me it does not recognize the ink cartridges. It was different cartridges on each set up. I followed the directions and used the ink provided. It is the second step in the set up. How could you mess that up. (1) Turn on power, (2) Install ink cartridges.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am really ticked off so far. I have followed all the directions for installation. It picked up the wifi perfectly, everything worked well, until the ink installation. It will not recognize the ink.
If I install the black it is fine if the Cyan is NOT in. If the cyan is on and the black is NOT it, it is fine. If they are both in, then neither works.
I have tried a number of trouble shooting ideas, but nothing has worked and I have been at this an hour. If I have to go back to the store, I will not be buying another Epson.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So far this thing has been nothing but trouble. Software issues, connections issues, set-up issues, Recovery failures.
Very frustrating!

Out of the box, printer doesn't work

Purchased a new XP-520. Set up couldn't complete as the printer would not recognize two of the ink cartridges that came in the box.
Epson is sending me new cartridges. Hopefully I will update with a more positive review once the replacements arrive. Not impressed so far with my first Epson product.

Eats up ink, constant problems with missing lines

This printer eats up ink like you cannot believe.
I just filled up yellow and magenta, printed one colour picture which printed out horrendously with missing lines. Printed off 15 black and white pages (which also printed horrendously, with the shaded gray printing in rainbow colours?). I ran a few nozzle checks and did some cleanings which did not help. Only to find out that I have only 1/4 yellow and magenta left! I am not kidding! The ink cartridges are TINY and expensive. You cannot even get them refilled at a refill store. They don't refill these ones.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER! I saw some awful reviews like mine and didn't listen! Off I got to buy another printer! Big regrets.

Great product, but...

Excellent printer/copier/scanner easy to set up and operate. Works great for home or small office setting. My only complaint is of course the ink. Just purchased new ink and one of my children printed off a lot of black and white images which in turn emptied the photo black cartridge. All other colors are brand new and full. Now with the photo black being empty it will not print or copy until I replace that ONE cartridge. I do not like the idea of having to buy the whole set just for one small cartridge if black ink. Photo Black is not available seperately.

no joy with wifi

great printer, love the autocrop and scan to sd card for all my pre-digital photos! However after 4 hours and 2 different laptops (one windows 8 and one windowa 7) I still don't have wireless connections. This should be an easy thing! The printer connected to my network no problem but the computers cannot find them. Fix this and the rating goes straight to 5/5.

Great printer but...

Loved this printer until Microsoft upgraded me to Windows 10 (against my wishes. I might add).
Now the color printing is basically mostly green with the nozzle check showing no yellow and fragmented red.
I would recommend this to a friend!
