Electrical engineer / advanced user had problems

When i read the reviews and found that so many people complained about this printer i thought it was user error.
But i had the exact problem. The printer did not recognize the ink cartridges and even after removing and replacing it still would not.
I have used Epson printers for years, but this one is a dud. Returned it and am considering the 620 .

It works!

Just installed Epson X520 and it was easy (I am Not a Techno Nerd. At 76 I wouldn't be allowed in that club). Just returned another - not Epson - printer this a.m. after 4 hours of trying to set it up yesterday. My Epson set up took about an hour. So pleased at the simplicity of set up and simplicity of operation. It's just what I wanted.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Instructions are Terrible

doesn't tell you how to set it up wirelessly until you go to the website and then when you type in the address in the instructions to download the software, the page doesn't exist.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I Love my XP-520! Love the ink cartridges

This is the easiest printer I have ever used. The duplexing feature is stellar. If there is an interruption in the printing, for example: one color needs to be changed in the middle of your 35 page doc of the 2nd side, the machine will remember where you are, and go there!!!! Love the front loading! Love the foot print.
The only thing I would change: the paper tray. I would make the paper tray sturdier. Make it a touch higher up in the machine so it would slide better. I know that would make it taller, but it would be worth it.

Great choice, had a few before but this one is the best, not too big, hold plenty of paper and has great quality for pics. Also the WIFI Bluetooth we can print straight from our phones, GREAT feature. For household items and great pics this is the best printer and a real fair price.

Very happy. Fastest printer I have ever had. Even happier when I got the scanner to work from computer. I have set it up totally wireless except, of course, the power cord. At first I could not scan from the computer. Downloaded other software from Epson site and all is well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This printer is so easy to use that even I being a senior citizen and having absolutely no knowledge of how to use a lot of machines out there on the market am enjoying my first ever printer. After my son informed me to get this model because he too has one, he installed it for me and then showed me how to use it. I am now able to print, scan and even print pictures whenever I want and I can do it easily by following the screen's steps and of course the steps my son gave me. The only problem with this model is that in just less then one month of use, the pop up panel that shows the screen and buttons is now defected because it WILL NOT click back in place and close the panel like it should be but I can live with that. Other then that this Epson printer is a must for any person that is not too knowledgeable about mechanical things.
I would recommend this to a friend!
