Wonderful except for one thing

I've had my Blendtec for several years. One day, though, a chunk of the jar burst out, hit a wall, and shot across the room. My kitchen, of course, was a disaster. Luckily, no one was in the path of the shrapnel piece with sharp edges. The cost of the replacement jar is so high! I tried to epoxy it back together, but it just didn't work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am extremely happy with this Wild Side Jar! It works really well and it is so wonderful to not have to use anything to "push down" what I am blending!

I bought a Q-Series blender and Wildside 4 years ago that has been fantastic and gifted my Home model to my parents. The blender is built like a tank and the hood helps keep me from waking up my family at 5am. The jar requires thoughtful use. For example, if you fill your jar *starting* with frozen strawberries, you're asking for trouble. A normal blender would just get stuck and maybe blow its motor. The Blendtec is so strong that when the berry gets stuck between the 4" blade and the side of the jar, it will push the blade off axis and put excess strain on the gasket. Solution: fill your jar with hard, frozen pieces last. Also, if you aren't good about washing the jar after use, crystalline sugar deposits will accumulate around the seal and act like an abrasive and eventually grind down your gasket until it no longer seals. If you see an accumulated deposit in the jar after it has dried, you need to clean it better. Blendtec promptly replaced my Wildside jar even though it failed because of my mistakes. I have 4453 cycles on the new Wildside and its showing ZERO signs of wear. 2.25 US cents per cycle seems like a great value to me.
First I have had our Blend Tech since 2001 and in general it has worked well however the jars are always the issue and with this being the first WildSide+ Jar I have stretched to make the purchase on I am not to happy with it first it has not performed as advertised when trying to make a 24 to 32 oz smoothie with 1/3 of the ingredients frozen and the rest of the ingredients cold it usually has issues about getting the job done I usually run the unit 4 to 6 cycles to finally get the results advertised as 1 to 2 cycles. Second since the first Smoothie as described above I have found that during the first and second cycles trying to get the frozen chunks to start circulating through the mixture the unit is vibrating higher than with the original style jars and during that high vibration period the seals in the bottom around the blade shaft and berating begin to leak fluids out therefore I know it won’t be long before that foreign material in the bearings will cause premature failure I have tried to make a video of it but haven’t been successful yet. I will not purchase another WildSide+ Jar that is for certain but I will take advantage of the warranty as long as the base unit continues to run however I may not purchase Blend Tech again it would be a struggle to make me go down this path again. I will upload my video as soon as I can get a good show of the problems I am having almost daily now that I am needing to reach some personal goals and using the blender is now a daily task.
I bought this wild side jar as a replacement for my original, which had over 4,500 blends. I have made over 50 smoothies in the new jar and have had no problems with the jar or the lid. Just need to make sure the lid is securely in place. I love my Blendtec!
After many years of daily use I had to replace the old jar. The service from Blendtec was exemplary. The representative explained the choices I had, suggested the newer Wildside + Jar. I did order the new Wildside + jar, shipment was quick. The new jar made the Blendtec more efficient, and final product very "creamy". I enjoy using the new jar for our daily morning smoothy.
This jar has changed my life!! Plenty of room for all my ingredients for my delicious morning protein shake!! Please partner with TerraCycle to recycle ♻️ I have my old one in a box ready to return to you OR send to TerraCycle!!!
