I've had my Blendtec for 9 years now with no problems. I use it about 3 times a week primarily for juice and smoothies. Last time I used it, it began smoking and the rubber on the bottom of the jar was in shreds. Not sure if I can only replace the rubber piece or if I have to purchase a whole new jar. :(
Works great, no need for a tamper. This will pull everything down into the blades, especially with thick smoothies. No bits or pieces left behind. After using a Vitamix for two years, the Blendtec is quieter and does a great job.
I originally bought a refurbished blendtec blender & had to replace the jar. My blender is much quieter with this new jar. Love it!

Blade assembly breaks

I have had two wild side jars and both blade assemblies failed. One flew off and the other is stiff and clicks with every 1/4 turn. I don't dare use it on the blender. The smaller jar works fine. I love the blender, but do not want to buy another wild side jar.
I bought this as a replacement for my old wildside jar. This one has more capacity. The lid on this is not as secure as the lid on my old jar. Thankfully I had kept an old lid and I am not using that. The lid that came with this jar requires multiple checks for seal and still I don't trust it.
Although I'm not happy about the high cost to replace a blendtec jar (wish it would be in the $39's), even when discounted, I am quite happy with the larger capacity and shape of this jar, compared to the original jar. I often make thick smoothies for my children, and the liquid is less likely to get stuck in this jar. It is also more aesthetically appealing than the original narrower boxy jar.
Not a big deal...I'm not sure why the top hole shrunk so much though (I take the whole top off when I wish to unstick something and/or stir). In any case, I wish the cap would stay on more tightly.
