We love our Blendtec Blender. We have used this blender every single day for 3 years and finally needed to replace the WildSide Blender Jar due to our own careless misuse only. We do like the original style Lid a little better as is is much easier to clean because of the flat surface underside.

Stoked on my new blendtec wildside jar. Not sure how it’s different than my old one but my smoothies are noticeably smoother. I discovered this while blending medjool dates which I have always found problematic. Well done Blendtec!

Powerful, easy-to-use; blade assemblies fail, leak

I've had my Blendtec for about 7 years -- seven years of blissful smoothies. Hundreds of them. Maybe even thousands. It's been great. But the jars and specifically the blade assemblies, are a complete disappointment.
I'm on jar #2 now, and I'm starting to see the tell-tale signs that it's about to go belly up: black, nasty liquid beginning to leak out of the bottom (and maybe -- who knows? -- into my smoothie). This is exactly what the first jar began to do before it catastrophically failed discharging an odor of burnt rubber throughout the house.
In line with Blendtec's care instructions, I clean the jar with warm water and sometimes soap, if it really needs it, immediately after each use. I was hoping to extend the life of this 2nd jar by being even more careful with how I wash it and what I place into it (for example, never frozen fruit; always thawed in the microwave beforehand). Nonetheless, it seems this 2nd jar will not outlast the 1st.
Disappointing. And now I'm looking at spending another $100+ to replace it. If anyone from Blendtec reads this review, please tell me that improvements have been made to address this issue.
There aren't many weaknesses to your product. But if there is *one* thing you need to focus on, this is it.

It is a little smaller than the original one I had, but does a great job. After 8 years of constant use - 3 to 4 times daily - the seal when in my large jar. This was the largest size available. I didn't realize the blade of my old jar was dull until I received the new one. WOW! I really love my Blendtec.

defect/broken black ring

We bought our Blendtec in 2011. So far blending has been fine except it is the fourth time we have to order a new wildside jar. The black ring underneath the jar is damaged/broken and it leaks while blending. We use the blender two times a week, (2*49sec ) for cold smoothies. I clean it only by hand and dry it after. What is wrong with this defect small black ring? and where can we order a jar for a reasonable price? In EU we have no Blendtec sales or promotions like in the US and the prices are high.
