Although I'm not happy about the high cost to replace a blendtec jar (wish it would be in the $39's), even when discounted, I am quite happy with the larger capacity and shape of this jar, compared to the original jar. I often make thick smoothies for my children, and the liquid is less likely to get stuck in this jar. It is also more aesthetically appealing than the original narrower boxy jar.
Not a big deal...I'm not sure why the top hole shrunk so much though (I take the whole top off when I wish to unstick something and/or stir). In any case, I wish the cap would stay on more tightly.
I really wish I’d bought a Vitamix at this point. Our first Wildside jar broke while still under warranty and they replaced it. What happens is that the plastic bit holding the metal blade in place starts to deteriorate and gets into the food as well as all over the blender base. We were told we had to turn the blade manually to keep it from breaking. We did that for the second one and it broke about three months out of warranty. Piece of junk! It works great until it doesn’t. It costs way too much to replace every two years!!
I bought this as a replacement for my old wildside jar. This one has more capacity. The lid on this is not as secure as the lid on my old jar. Thankfully I had kept an old lid and I am not using that. The lid that came with this jar requires multiple checks for seal and still I don't trust it.
I have had two wild side jars and both blade assemblies failed. One flew off and the other is stiff and clicks with every 1/4 turn. I don't dare use it on the blender. The smaller jar works fine. I love the blender, but do not want to buy another wild side jar.
First I have had our Blend Tech since 2001 and in general it has worked well however the jars are always the issue and with this being the first WildSide+ Jar I have stretched to make the purchase on I am not to happy with it first it has not performed as advertised when trying to make a 24 to 32 oz smoothie with 1/3 of the ingredients frozen and the rest of the ingredients cold it usually has issues about getting the job done I usually run the unit 4 to 6 cycles to finally get the results advertised as 1 to 2 cycles. Second since the first Smoothie as described above I have found that during the first and second cycles trying to get the frozen chunks to start circulating through the mixture the unit is vibrating higher than with the original style jars and during that high vibration period the seals in the bottom around the blade shaft and berating begin to leak fluids out therefore I know it won’t be long before that foreign material in the bearings will cause premature failure I have tried to make a video of it but haven’t been successful yet. I will not purchase another WildSide+ Jar that is for certain but I will take advantage of the warranty as long as the base unit continues to run however I may not purchase Blend Tech again it would be a struggle to make me go down this path again. I will upload my video as soon as I can get a good show of the problems I am having almost daily now that I am needing to reach some personal goals and using the blender is now a daily task.
