I had the original jar bought over a decade ago finally blow the seal out, so did the upgrade. The wider base makes it much easier to clean, and yes, the fifth wall somehow makes the flow in the jar not create dead spots.

I bought this jar to replace the original jar. I spoke with a CSA to try to understand why this might be a better choice for my smoothies over just replacing my jar with the original design. I would agree that this jar does have a stronger blade and because I use frozen fruit I feel this is a plus but I'm not sure yet about the 5th side.

Wish I had this years ago- makes a much easier blend and less air pockets in thick smoothie blends. Only wish my blender came with this 8 years ago! Love it!

5 cup measurement jars?

I love my blendtec. I use it almost everyday for green smoothies. I am now in need of a new jar. The bearings on the two jars I received have been worn out and no longer work as well. The first time I ordered my blendtec was almost 10 years ago. I received two jars when I bought it. One was measured at 4 cups and the other was measured at 5 cups. I love the 5 cup jar because it makes a big difference in quantity. My entire family drinks green smoothies every day, so it is nice to have that difference. I LOVE this blender, but I am wondering if there are any jars that are larger?

No other jar blends like these. This one is a replacement for my original, which has made over a thousand Green smoothies over the last couple of years as I have lost over 50 pounds, and it is getting very worn. In addition, there have been no trips to the ER for sutures for cuts from sharp blades.

When you buy a $300 blender with an 8 year warranty, you don't plan on having to replace the $100 jar three times in those years. I've been through 3 jars in that time. The rubber seal eventually falls apart, especially with heavy blending. Also, I can't seem to love the plastic jar. This is a deal breaker for me Blendtec :( I'm sad because I loved it at first so much.
