Perfect Cooking Flexibility

We replaced our 11 year old GE Monogram Convection/Microwave oven with this new GE Profile Speedcook oven. I chose the 120 volt over the 240 volt only because I didn't want the bother of running 24V to the space. I think and hope I only gave up cook time speed but time will tell. Installation was simple, almost "Plug-N-Play". We have the GE Monogram convection oven in black below. It is also 11 years old but still going strong so we didn't replace it at this time. The Profile style looks very nice with the Monogram style, only the handle is different but only the most discriminating would notice. We have a very beautiful kitchen and this fits right in. So far it works great and we are looking forward to doing more in the Speedcook mode. We considered a double oven because we entertain a lot during the holidays but we also needed a microwave and din't like the idea being on a counter top. This seems like the perfect solution with its convection bake ability and now Speedcook option as well. Our 11 year Monogram didn't have the Speedcook feature. Can't wait for the holidays, in fact we may have to do a big family cooking event this summer just to try it out sooner.

New, out of the box, the display does not work after costly installation.

A huge time saver

This is my second GE Advantium. I love this appliance because it saves me a lot of time. It is like having two ovens, which comes in handy during the holidays. I highly recommend the Advantium

Fell in Love

Bought this because I didn't have a place for a microwave. Now seven years later I'm looking for a second one because we're moving and I can't take it with me. I tell people if you could fall in love with an appliance, this would be IT.

Potential to be very great

The features are many for this appliance. If you just want a microwave this isn't for you because it can do so much more. Having to convert all recipes to work with this unit can be frustrating, I still have soggy centers with over cooked edges. It comes with a cookbook but to figure out to use with long standing recipes can be tricky. When you do master the convection use then it does save on electricity and reducing heating up the entire kitchen. The panel does show finger prints at every use and the inside is very large but is stainless steel so you do need to keep up with cleaning up splattering. I still find it tricky to know when I can or must use the glass tray, the metal tray and/or which baking dish to use. I can use an aluminum baking pan but I cannot use aluminum foil. Still haven't figured out how to turn off the turntable for oversized pans. I have many notes to follow until this becomes easier. It is worth it.

Advantium 240 a must!

Bought the Advantium in 2001. I use it every day. Easy to clean. The paint on the door is beginning to flake off. Wouldn't be without one!
