Awesome Machine

This is our 2nd GE 240 Advantium. Our 1st one lasted us over 17 years and my wife will not cook using anything else because nothing is as efficient as the Advantium. It cuts cooking time down to about 1/3 of normal ovens and the prepared dish is always moist and tastes great. We highly recommend the Advantium to anyone who dislikes being in the kitchen. It is by far, the best appliance we have ever owned.

Loved first oven for 18 years, bought another

Our first Advantium over the range oven lasted for 18 year, loved it. I like that the oven cavity on new oven is much larger and can put in 9 x 13 inch casserole, also has racks so several layers can cook at one time. I do most of my cooking with this oven as you can not only microwave, but also can heat like a regular oven. It also has a section with built in recipes that use the right combination of cooking types to cook food and brown the food. SInce this oven has electronic controls, I hope that it lasts as long as my other oven which had mechanical controls. This is the series that uses 220 electrical power so make you have the right outlet. My complaint is that it only comes now in stainless steel and I finally found an auto body shop to paint it biscuit to match my other appliances which was an extra cost.

Halogen light no longer works after 4 years

We purchased a complete kitchen and really disappointed by the units. After 4 years using the Speedcook less than a dozen times, the light no longer works in cook mode. Not the light to see the interior but the cooking light. Doesn’t seem to be an owner replaceable item. We’ve had to get the fridge repaired (3 weeks to get a compressor fan) and the glass top stove large eye goes to high on it’s own. Really disappointed in the quality after spending thousands of dollars.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing Features

We love this microwave. Our previous Advantium was almost 12 years old when it got blasted by a power surge. When shopping for a new microwave we knew there was no other choice. We love all of the features. The only thing we have an issue with is the clock display. By design the display only stays illuminated for 30 seconds after use. You don't know you want an Advantium until you have one. Once you have one you will never want to purchase any other microwave.
