Junk for the price

We bought this microwave on the appliance salesmans recommendation. What they didn't tell us is the exhaust fan is worthless, when you do somthing as simple as make pasta, it seams up real bad and we have has condensation between the microwave door for overnight and my cabinets covered with moisture. I was told this is normal be the GE repairman (while under warranty). Now this was installed into our new house when we moved in in June 2017 and in September of 2019 we has to have the circuit board replaced and now in November 2019 the fan is bad and needs replaced, so basically in a 2 month period we have had use of the microwave for a month. So glad we purchase the extended warranty! Not very impressed by it's functions either, when you reheat a plate of food it times out and says maxium time reached and food is barely warm. The defrost feature cooks the edges, even when turning as instructed on the unit. Have error codes show up on screen and only way to clear them is unplug the unit. I suggust you not waste your money on this microwave.

Love the features and ease of use

We have used the product rarely, and the handle , which is cheap plastic, just broke! In order to change it, change the whole door! it is a common problem with this microwave. Look for other references online.
The other issue is the fact that the heating element on the bottom is uncovered, meaning that a serious spill (kids using, anybody?) might damage the unit permanently.
Third, speed cook in reality means that there will be no time wasted to heating up this small oven, but the actual time for cooking stays the same, at least with Advantium 120.
I have to stick to GE as of now. Next time I will buy just a convection and microwave combo. Speed cook is a waste of money.

Exhaust Fan

This model replaced our 15 year old Advantium, works/looks great except the exhaust fan does not remove smoke and steam. Exhaust fan comes on and you hear the exhaust flap open but that’s about it, the kitchen fills up with steam/smoke.
With our old unit we never had this issue.

Hope the Second One is a Charm

This is the second Advantium we have had IN 60 DAYS. The first one would not consistently heat food. Turntable would randomly stop turning. The unit could not be repaired.

Great for Cooking, Need Cleaming Assistance

This is our second Adventium. First one was good for 15 years but we used it basically as a sophisticated microwave. This new one we use for its intended purpose. I like it. Cooked the best salmon with dill butter according to the Speedcook guideline setting and it tasted better than restaurant salmon; moist and delicious. The only issue is one of cleaning. I need a recommendation as to a nonabrasive stainless steel cleaner formulated to remove the yellowish heat tarnish as suggested in the cleaning section of the manual.

Automatic black out of panel Very inconvenient

As a 10 plus year Profile Advantium Oven in three homes I expected improvements but not an "undisclosed" energy turnoff of lights on panel. With all the useless pieces of paper in the box, why isn't the consumer advised of this "built in" requirement (per Gov't). I perennially spent three hours and almost called for service thinking its a short. Finally I called my daughter who Googled the appliance. I know it isn't broken, however, while using the oven I continually have to press buttons or open the door to get the time.

I replaced my advantium that I purchased in 2000. There was no doubt that I would once again purchase an Advantium. It’s quick and doesn’t heat up your kitchen. Love the features—convection cooking is new to me and I love this feature. It’s like having a second oven!
