Over 15 yrs of use - Love My Advantium

Over 15 years ago, as a test after installation, I picked up a small chicken and put it in with jucied lemon over the top and salt and pepper. Turned the Food Selector for Chicken bone in, and poof done perfectly. The skin was able to be crispy and the chicken tender. I have not over or under cooked chicken in this over the stove oven. Lots of features and a cookbook that can teach, it is a multi oven that is approachable.
What I found however is that the few techniques I did use made it very worth the technology. I recently had to replace the mica square and every once and awhile the lights. The range fan is loud and not as effective as I would prefer.
This is a great product!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love my microwave/convection bake, broil appliance

Love it because it is also a 2nd oven which I use a lot since we are only 2 people. This is my 2nd advantium. My first one was almost 10 years old and GE couldn’t get the parts. I waited from August till November then said I need my microwave which they gave me a refund of the first one. Ordered this in November, didn’t get it till February. Love. It and hope it lasts

Easy to install

This replaced a 20 year old Advantium that still worked. I had to make the plug hole bigger in the cabinet bottom to accommodate the wider plug, and the right side mounting screw hole did not line up so I had to drill another hole. I could and did use the existing ductwork. I removed the blower motor, spun in around, the flipped it a qtr turn to set it up for back venting. Instructions were excellent. It looks nice. It has a three-speed vent fan, seems to heat food a bit faster. Looking forward to using the recipes. The glass tray has dimples on it to fit onto the turnstyle but the metal plates do not. Not sure if these will stay in place. Exhaust fan and cooking noise/sound=quieter than the original model. This model is deeper. It sticks out more something like an inch or inch and a qtr past the cabinets. There are two racks for baking. These should not be installed when microwaving. Clock goes dark until a key is touched-energy saver, I guess. Definitely a two person job. I used the old mounting bracket-I kept it in place. It worked great. Overall a good purchase and an easy install.

Defective - Handle has broken twice!

Handle first broke when still under warranty, was repaired and has now broken again in less than a year. This is obviously defective - we owned our last over the range microwave (also a GE) for 15 years without the handle ever breaking.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Made cheaply

This does not compare to my first adventium. The vent is located on top instead of in front (like my old one)which makes it a pain to always clean kitchen cabinet above. You also can’t leave food inside a very short time without having to open door again to power on. Too many steps just to microwave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Features!

This is our second Advantium microwave, as the previous one finally quit after 12 years. Once we grew accustom to having the speed cook features, we can't imagine living without them. This thing is awesome.
