I had my heart set on upgrading my yoga mat to a super expensive and more grippy one. My husband surprised me this mat for Christmas and it would be rude to return it. The dark purple side is non slip and grippy. Unfortunately the light purple side isn't as much. The whole mat slid when I changed positions light down and my hands and feet slid when I used it light side up. As a last ditch effort to save the mat before replacing it, I lightly ran a fine grit sanding sponge diagonally across and down the light side of the mat before yoga class and my slipping problem is solved! I'm glad because otherwise I like the mat. The price is MUCH better than the spendy grippy mat I originally thought I needed and best of all and most important, I'm happy to use my husband's thoughtful gift.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This mat is perfect for those who want to start an at-home yoga practice, but don't want to spend a lot of money to do so. This mat is lightweight, easy to carry, and has ample cushion (even for sensitive joints). I have used this mat for over two years now, and it has taken me from a novice experimenter to a devoted yogi. However, as I have deepened my practice and begun to do more sweaty flows, my hands started slipping almost constantly.

This is a great mat for a great price. It stays put, the material doesn't flake off, it's thick enough but not too thick and my hands and feet don't slide around. Very comfortable and vibrant colors.

I love the color (looks just like it did online) and the size is wonderful! However, the mat itself seems slippery. I've only had it a couple weeks, and have been using it almost daily, so I'm hoping it gets better with time :/

Great mat! I'm a 300lb brute that sweats like a pig, and this mat keeps my feet/hands well grounded. Feels great, even on the hardwood floor. The 5mm is plenty of padding.

I am so disappointed this mat didn't work out. I love the thickness and it feels great compared to the mats I use at the gym. However, this mat is not sticky at all so will have to return.
