Great Features but fail after 2nd season

While it was working it was much better then my previous portable air conditioner (which lasted several years in the same environment). Really cooled two rooms nicely without working overtime. Recently it stopped cooling. Filter was fine no water in the evaporation tray so it's beyond what I can do. The compressor still makes noise but measuring the temp at the vent output I only get 72 degrees, usually this would read around 58 degrees and rely on the thermostat to regulate the room temperature. Too much money spent for barely two seasons of use.
If you do decide to go for this unit you may want to consider an extended warranty from LG or Square Deal.
This is my first LG product and I was considering a 3D TV purchase for next year but I may have to rethink that idea. LG seems to provide nice features and specs but they are no good if the unit does not last. I gave it two stars, one for each season.

Did Not Last Three Years

Great looking unit. Easy to use. Worked fantastic for the first 2 years cooling our bedroom. This year no cool air. Sounds like the compressor is not working. What I now have is a three speed window fan. I would not recommend this unit. For the purchase price and LG's name I thought that this was quality unit worth the investment. I was wrong.

Poor Quality - Stopped Working After 2 Years

After two years the unit stopped blowing cold air! Extremely frustrated given the amount of money I spent. The product is out of warranty and a service call does not justify, better use of money is to purchase a new one ....

Worked great until it died the third summer

Like many others have said, the unit worked well until it just stopped working (no cool air, but the fan still blows) in its third year. Also, this summer, the water tank kept filling up and had to be emptied every couple of hours or so. Because the unit is so low, it is difficult to do this without spilling the water. I am disappointed that this unit didn't last at least 5-7 years.

We have had two . The second we bought the extended warranty. Alas no water pump to be found so what good is the extended warranty.

Good through the warranty period...

Very disappointed with this product. It's one of two that we own and it was in the shop a few months after we bought it. Now that it's out of warranty, it runs for a few hours and then needs to be emptied. It doesn't seem to fill up to the 3 quarts of water that it should hold.
Our other LG portable units require a lot of emptying. That said, we're looking at competitors.

I really liked the unit until this year the unit does not blow cold air. Very frustrating for the amount of money spent thought I was purchasing a quality unit. Now out of warranty and cost to fix it is about the same as buying a new unit.
