Problems

Takes a long time to get up to temp 500-550 (setting 5) to preheat. Then when it does and you put your steak on or whatever the temp drops 200 degrees or more, then you have to wait again, then when you turn over the meat the temp drops again, each time you open it. Don't like the grate, you don't get the grilled taste. Food is good but doesn't taste grilled. Temp control won't pull out to store indoors. Where do you put the wood chips if you want to use them, right on the grate with the food? You'll be eating wood chips. The manual says to put them right on the grate! Liked my old CharBroil better, had a regular open grate, temp control pulled out with no trouble, and the food tasted grilled.

I apologize that you are having these issues with your grill! Have you called in to speak with one of our Certified Grill Specialists about these issues? All of our grills consist of their own warranties, once the grill is registered, so please give us a call to discuss the issues and to register your model! 1-800-241-7548 Our representatives will also be able to provide any troubleshooting steps that may be needed. There are also several different options available as to how you may use your wood chips, please advise the representative that you are having an issue with that as well.

The car broil gets up to 500 degrees but as soon as you open the lid to put the meat on it drops to 375. The meat does not sear well. It is ok for chicken and seafood, but certainly not good for beef, port, lamb or anything you want cooked fast on the outside and rare on the inside.

Takes a long time to heat up. If you open it to check what you're cooking, it loses temperature and is slow to come back to temp.

This is a poor excuse for a Bar-B-Q. Be aware that it takes half an hour to get to approx. 450 degrees. Don't lift the lid for a second or you will wait another 15 minutes. I tried it on 3 occasions in warm weather and decided to give up ever trying to cook with it again. I was so excited about using this bar-b-q. It looks great but thats it. Don't waste your time or energy on this product. Don't go thru the annoyance of buying it, putting it together, being dissatisfied and not being able to return it.

I bought this patio size because I do not like to lug up a full propane tank of gas to my fourth floor condo, and hate it when one runs out...in the middle of a bbq! This is the perfect size for my patio; easy to clean, and move around the area. Heats up quickly; perfect for my use.

This is an excellent grill for someone like me that doesn't want to mess with propane or charcoal . . . I have made everything from chicken and pork to the simplest of hamburgers and hotdogs (veggies to die for) and all came out great. I am thrilled with this purchase!
