We purchased this BBQ about 6 months ago, upon recommendation of a friend. We were tired of having to refill the propane tanks, not knowing when they were about to empty and ruin our half cooked meals. Honestly, there is no difference in the taste of the food and the convenience is outstanding. I would highly recommend this electric BBQ hands down!

its a real grill

Just finished testing out the grill,I assembled it,ran it through a heat cycle to burn off anything from when it was built"do this",there was some smelly smoke off. after that I
let it cool back down then fired it up again and cooked chicken leg quarter,plenty of smoke,the chicken came out great and had a good grilled taste to it. It's a good alternative to gas or charcoal. You can also use wood chips in it to really get some smoke going.

I live in a high rise where gas/charcoal grills are not allowed. I love the Char-Broil Bistro 240. It heats up quickly (make sure you preheat) and sears like a gas grill when fully heated. Be sure to limit the amount of time that you open the grill as the heat recovery time is not the same as gas. I definitely get better cook times when the weather is warmer outside making the comparison to gas much closer in the summer . Captain Obvious I know, but worth mentioning. Happy grilling!

A friend bought a furnished beach condo that came with an electric grill, which he didn't want, so he gave it to us, brand new. We tried it, loved it, used it every night for the next 6 months and basically killed it (note: do not leave cord plugged in on the balcony when you live in Florida, the points get wet/corroded & stop working). So we went right out and bought the larger, Bistro 240 model and continue to use it every night. We barbecue steaks, pork chops, chicken, fish, veggies...everything. Here's a tip: You can buy a metal (iron?) vented box at the hardware store, fill it with mesquite or other flavor wood chips, pour water over it and set it on top of the grill & once the chips heat up and start to smoke a little bit, add your meat/veg & cook. Makes everything taste mui delicioso!!

I bought this infrared patio bistro in red because they didn't have black at the store and I really wanted this grill. Well months later, I've been grilling everything on it to perfection! This grill is amazing! Just plug it in and watch the infrared action cook your food to perfection! The temperature gauge atop is extremely useful and th grease goes right into the drip tray below neatly. There's an abundance of space below to store utensils and other miscellaneous items. I highly recommend purchasing this grill because it is a sound investment that will last you!

I bought this for my husband for Father's Day, and we've already used it several times. We had a kettle grill for decades, but hadn't used it for the last several years because there are just the two of us, and it was too much hassle to heat it up for the minimal amount of cooking we would have used it for, plus I was concerned about safety. This small electric grill is absolutely perfect for us. We've done brats, burgers, chicken legs and chicken breasts so far - and everything was perfect - and I am an electric grilling newbie!

I was a bit reluctant to try an Electric Grill so after purchasing my Char Broil I kept my Gas Grill on hand. I can now say good-bye to the Gas Grill, I love my Electric Char Broil. The only disadvantages that I can find, is it is a bit slower, especially in cold weather, (Below Freezing) saying that, if you plan ahead and turn it on for 15 minutes it performs great. One advantage of being a bit slower, is I have yet to burn anything. It also takes up way less room than my old gas grill and is easier to clean. Plus it is legal to use in many condo's where Gas and Charcoal grills are not allowed.

I have had my Char-Broil for around 6 months now. It's the second one I've owned. My first one lasted me almost 10 years! I simply love the fast warm up and no muss of dealing with heating and disposing of charcoal. The new design is much better than the original. The cleanup is easier also. Makes it a pleasure to use when you know the cleanup will be easy. My only complaint is the nice chrome handle is already starting to rust. I live very close to the ocean and salt takes its toll even when I keep it covered.
