Improvement features

I was all excited about my new father's day gift but low and behold while transporting it to my deck the two front wheels gave in...the area where they are attached is too weak for the size and weight of grill (need to reenforce attachment area) and less than an year my charcoal pan and ash pan need replacement. Also the lift handle bucks on the chassis before the charcoal pan is elevated to my desired position..relocate to a new position or have a knob style handle instead. As as to the next question "to recommend to a friend" you should have a box to write in not just a yes or no answer ...I would recommend only if improvements are made on the part above

Great Features

I bought this grill going on 4 yrs now and am so glad I purchased it. I'm loving grill food more than ever now because of this grill, where I live in the bahamas a grill night can be almost every night because sometimes it feels like summer year round, I would recomend this grill to any and everyone. I will be purchasing a new one in short order because the ash trays are very worn out on my existing one but other than that I have no complaints this was an excellent purchased.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice grill

The grill arrived in an undamaged box on a pallet so shipping and delivery was fine. Two problems surfaced early on - one involved a side burner unit (part #32) which would not light reliably and I traced the problem to a burner unit that had been damaged when assembled at the factory and the other problem involved a dent in the control console (part #20) (a large dent under the left two control knobs) also apparently occurred prior to shipping. The first problem with the side burner was resolved with a 20-30 minute telephone call to customer service who shipped a new burner unit which works beautifully. The damage to the original burner was obvious when compared to the new unit supplied. As far as the dented control console panel, I didn't notice it until a day after assembling the unit. It is pretty noticeable but does not seem to affect the operation of the grill. Maybe in a few days when I think I have the time to telephone customer support, I may seek some kind of resolution on this problem. I am somewhat disappointed in the poor quality control of the components as shipped.
All things considered this is a nice unit and I hope to get at least as long as I got out of my last Charbroil grill which lasted 12 years and is still going strong. I mostly wanted to step up to the gas/charcoal combination unit. I have not had any longevity problems with my Charbroil units in the past but seasonal maintenance is a good idea and definitely prolongs the life of any unit.

Very Happy with this grill!! I've had since this past summer, use it about 3-4 times a week! Never a problem at all... besides after grilling, I want to grill again! lol great great!!!

Bought this product years age and it's still holding up great. Had a dog chew my propane lines and was easily replaced. Very easy to use and clean.

It's OK

Going on my 3rd summer with it. The propane side is OK still. Heat Shields and everything still intact. On the Charcoal side, I replaced the Charcoal when I first got it because it was broken at a joint. The replacement is made a bit better but it doesn't sit evenly (warped from heat I am guessing) The overall construction is on the thin side but I have cooked some great meals on it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Grill too heavy for filmsy bracket

The front caster bent and then broke off. It just seems like the unit is just too heavy for the bracket that the casters attach to. It's just too thin and flimsy. Also, disappointed with the grates. It seems like there rusting out already. It's not out in the elements either. It's on an enclosed porch.

Love that I can cook with Gas or Charcoal

I purchased a combo grill a few months ago and have been very happy. The grill allows use of gas or charcoal. By using the gas to start the charcoal you avoid the flavor of starter fluid. The grill cleans up easily and always does a great job cooking everything from fish to steak. This is my third Char-Broil grill and all have worked great.
I would recommend this to a friend!
