We actually returned our first unit because we thought the ice maker was broken. Turns out it makes only enough ice to fill about 3 cups and what it does make gets clogged in the under sized dispenser regularly. We've owned only Kitchenaide appliances and never any problems. Not sure why someone felt the need to reinvent the wheel here but this being our only fridge, we've had to add plastic ice trays to have enough for a family meal.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We do not have a lot of experience with the new refrigerator, but we have the same complaint as other reviewers......the ice maker seems to not make enough ice. We have a repairman coming to check it out. It seems like the sensor that detects if the ice bin is full goes off way before it is full, leaving us with only a glass full. All else is great. Much more roomy than expected. and we love the extra compartment and beautiful professional look of it.
