As Good As I Hoped

After five months of use we're pleased to provide a positive review from experience. The fridge does make a variety of different sounds as it goes about drawing in water, making ice, and cycling various components on and off. Some noises are louder than others but after awhile we've gotten used to all the sounds in the same affectionate way one might get used to the sounds of a pet. Yes -- this fridge has a personality!
The doors and drawers all have a solid feel. The ergonomics of the fridge is excellent. The icemaker does cubes or crushed, although producing crushed ice makes a racket and the crushed ice comes out in fits and starts. But it's all very consistent and surprisingly easy to get used to in its predictability.
The space usage between fridge, deli draw and freezer is great. And we love the sliding top drawers in the bottom freezer making access to the bottom portion of the freezer a breeze.
The fridge looks great (we have the BL version) and the LCD panel is easy to use with a nice blue night light. The Auto-Measuring water dispenser has a great calibration tool and for five months has worked flawlessly and we use it probably five times per day.
We have nothing bad to say and we are generally a critical observer. Nice job KitchenAid. This fridge is worth the premium price!

This is a waste of your money. The inside is the most user unfriendly fridge I have ever owned. Freezes stuff next the ice maker and the foods in lower of unit do not keep well. The freezer is small and with drawers is not user friendly. Compared to other makes of this type it is a lousy fridge. Don't waste your money on this as their is another make with the drawer that is the top of the line at about the same cost. Take my word on this one as I had the other one in my last home so I know the difference. The right upper door has rust like spot in the stainless door. The dealer has ordered a new door. It's been 3 months now and still no door. I wish I had never took the dealers advise that this was equal to the one I left behind. It's a big no on this fridge. No stars for this one
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My only real complaint is that the refrigerator is quite noisy. There are a few spots that seem cramped, but overall great. I thought the owner's manual could be improved.
Pros: Convenient Features, three drawers wonderful!
Cons: too noisey!

We purchased this refrigerator four months ago and are very happy with it. It is our first fridge with a water/ice feature in the door and we really use that a lot. In addition, the deli drawer is convenient and at the perfect level for kids to reach items on their own!
