ice maker fills too far and cubes stick together, clogs shute. Love the snack drawer, that's what sold us on the frig in the beginning. Makes a "popping" noise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to configure fridge, freezer holds everything plus two big roll out drawers. The center drawer works great for veggies and fruit without freezing anything. Drawer is easy to acces and can configure the partitions. Large cap ice maker and easy to change water filter.

Purchased the Refrigerator, Architect® Series II a few months ago to replace a 16 yr. old Whirlpool side-by-side (which still works great, I just figured it was time for an upgrade) and couldn't be happier. It adds a sleek touch to the kitchen and the access to all compartments is effortless. It's very quiet when the compressor kicks on. I think Kitchen-Aid got it right this time!

After struggling with my prior unit for a couple months I decided it was time to replace it. For the extra investment, I decided to try this higher-end model. I am not disappointed. It is extremely quiet. In fact, the only time I notice it is cycling is when the water runs to fill the icemaker. The adjustability and customization of the fridge shelving is great. The freezer has plenty of storage space for lots of frozen meats. And, I really like the accessibility of the center drawer. I eat an apple every day on the way to work and it's great being able to grab one from the drawer and go! I hope the longevity lasts up to the KitchenAid reputation.

I was told to get the one with the independent refrigerated drawer and it is where we keep snacks and soda and it is so convenient. We love it.

I have wanted the French door frig for a long time so spent some time checking out customer comments. PROS: This was the only manufacturer that gave me the large capacity without hitting our center island when you open the door. Make sure you measure if installing in existing kitchen that you can open the doors completely. We love that you can see what you have without standing on your head to see what's on the bottom shelves. The adjustable shelving provides lots of options for use.The center drawer fits a head of lettuce or medium cabbage with no problem and the freezer is very large with the drawers providing easy access to smaller items. We liked that it was a product still made in the USA CONS: I don't like the ice maker taking up so much room in the upper section and doesn't hold a lot of ice if you have a large family. You have to be careful to keep your cup up under the ice dispenser or will have ice everywhere.
