Lacking memory...otherwise very nice!

Finally a review that doesn't complain about battery life. Seriously...complaining about poor battery life in a smartphone is like complaining that water is wet.
The Droid Charge is an excellent phone with a large, bright screen. The only drawback for me is the lack of memory in the phone. With less than 400 MB of memory sometimes the phone can get a little sluggish...especially when playing games.
Otherwise I'm extremely happy with the phone.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight

Great phone overall. Do not like that the phone screen and number pad do not come on as soon as you lay it down. Not sure if I need to adjust this but screen rotation is very slow.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: no other colors available, covers too expensive
I would recommend this to a friend!

Could be great but....

I am overall very dissatisfied with this device.
4G only works sometimes.
Phone freezes frequently, also will not connect to data, . . Even after updates it still drops calls.
I can hear them, but they can’t hear me and this happens constantly
The keyboard always stops working and freezing of the screen esp. with camera, but always has to force close and then restart the phone to make it work again. That gets old when I mainly txt people!!
The phone locks up to the point you have to remove the battery. The battery over heats and sometimes will not charge.
Samsung lack good software updates, limited features are a drawback, You must keep a portable charger on hand because the battery will run out on you and the camera won’t work, among other things.
Lately (less than a year in), it has begun shutting off for no apparent reason. Then, it won’t come back on immediately (battery is not dead). Not good. There isn’t a message indicator so you have to keep waking the phone to see if you have a message or email.
I don’t recommend this phone at all..

Best phone I've ever had!!

I absolutely LOVE this phone! I love all the features and have had absolutely no problems with it. It's the best phone I've ever had. I was scared to get another problem phone because I had the Galaxy S and got it when it first came out and went through a few replacements over the past few years. But this phone is truly delightful! :O)

I love this phone, I read my books, catch up on my episodes, read emails, write my journal and lots more. this phone is great. Samsung did a great job creating this phone. I want to upgrade but I'm not sure to which phone. Great Job!!!!!!

Droid Charge - good phone, horrible battery life

Nice features, but the 4G seems to drain the battery something terrible. I carry two batteries and can no longer even come close to making it through a day on one battery.
Pros: Realistic color, Lightweight

It was the best phone when I bought it...

I bought this phone the second it came out...at a very high price point. The issue is that this was the last big single core phone. Now, it is very outdated hardware wise, but would definitely be worth it at the cheap price now. The battery life is terrible. Even with an extended battery, I am lucky to get 6 hours. Other than that, the camera is GREAT and I love Android.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, camera
Cons: single core processor, battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
