I hemmed and hawed about getting a smart phone and paying the extra monthly charge for service. Wow, what a world of difference. Brilliant color, fast, and lightweight.
I have only had it a week now and I am still saying "Holy Cow" every day while exploring this phone.
The only significant drawback is the price through Verizon is still outrageous.
Prior to this model, I owned 2 others and this is by far the worst model phone I have ever owned. I have replaced it 2 times already. Recently my Droid Charge was pushed an update (by the manufacturer) and since then, much to my surprise, it has actually gotten worse. The 3G failed on the 1st phone, the GPS failed on 2nd phone, the GPS on the latest takes up to 10 minutes to find the satellites. Most people complain when I use the speaker phone as they say they cannot hear me well or there is feedback. If you get this phone, and don't like it, remember, you have been warned.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, weak speaker phone, gps fails at times, phone locks when on speaker phone, wallpaper will not allow wide photos anymore, battery life is poor
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

REALLY POOR

This phone is serious epic fail! By far the worst Droid I have ever had. Needless to say I will not be choosing Samsung again. It repeatedly force closes every single program. I have reset it multiple times, wiped the SD card, bought a new SD card, I even had Verizon send me another one and another one. I do not recommend this phone you can get all the same features, some even better in so many other phones.
Cons: Poor quality, to many issues
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overall, love the phone

So far, I love this phone. Its a bit larger than the phones I've had in the past, but I couldn't imagine it being much smaller with the screen size.
The picture on the phone is great. I have a micro HDMI cable hooked up to my TV, and it'll mirror the picture from the phone, which is pretty nice. It'll lag a bit if you're watching flash through the browser AND its hooked up to the TV, but if you export the flash file to an external player, it'll play smoothly.
The speakers are surprising loud for such a small device. I can sit the phone on my driver seat and have it play music, I'll probably get a cord to have it play through my car speakers eventually though.
This phone will tear through the battery life. I'm thinking about getting an extended battery, I'll have to see how big it is to see if its worth it. Currently, it has a tough time being 12 hours away from a charger. I get horrible reception at the place where I work (everyone does), and I know that will shorten battery life, so my experience might not be the norm.
Another problem I've had with it is it will tend to overheat (and shut off). This will mostly happen in my car (its really hot when I first get in), but I've had it happen a couple times at work.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, hdmi port, great camera
Cons: short battery life, tends to overheat
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome Screen
on May 16, 2011

This is the best screen I have ever seen on a phone! Everything else on the phone is what you would expect. The 4G LTE is what makes this phone worth upgrading to unless you already have the Thunderbolt. I have had both phones and I like the Charge better than the Thunderbolt because of the screen and battery life.
This is my first Android based phone and it is amazing! Battery life gives me a full day plus with average usage, so not an issue for me. It's very easy to use and get to know. Apps. pre-loaded are useful, some not as useful for me, but for other people they may all be useful. The phone is blazing fast on 4G, and fast on 3G! Well worth purchasing and I am extremely pleased with this phone!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, 4g, easy to use
Cons: none
I would recommend this to a friend!

I wanted to upgrade but was confused as to what phone to buy. After reading review after review on the horrible battery life on the Thunderbolt......I knew the Droid Charge was for me. This phone in 1 word is SEXY. Sleek, lightweight, blazing fast 4G & the screen is awesome. You will love it!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, battery life
Cons: a bit expensive at $300.00 but worth it
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my second Samsung cell phone. I find the features are compatable to other top cell phones. Just love it.
