Love the hard buttons

Good phone and features, light weight is terrific, and screen is beautiful--just please please keep the hard buttons on future versions! That makes the difference in why I like this phone more than others! Will pay extra for it in the future
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, hard buttons

Not a bad 4G phone but Upgrade Software releases are holding it back

I purchased the Samsung Droid Charge about 1-2 months after it's release. This phone has great potential if only Samsung and Verizon would send out Android updates... Yes I'm one of the many who are waiting on the latest Android update. I could be like some who have hacked the phone and installed the unofficial update... but I'm trying to wait for the official release. My last phone was the original Droid. It was a great phone. The updates were much more frequent than with Samsung and Verizon. The longer Samsung and Verizon drag their feet on releasing the next Droid Charge update, the more I will lean to back to another manufacturer... Updates are very important, especially ones that solve big problems with battery life.
Pros: Realistic color, great 4g performance, battery life while using samsung media hub
Cons: battery life, lack of updates
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A little pricey, but a nice phone if you like Android!

Personally, I'm not a huge Android fan. I prefer the iOS, however this phone may just change my mind. I needed a larger display than what the iPhone offered and the more I get used to Android the better I am liking it. I wish this phone had come with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), but the 2.2 (Froyo) OS seems very stable. So far, no hangs or freeze ups that I've heard others talk about. Seems like a phone I may have around for a few years as long as I can still get apps for it.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, great camera
Cons: a bit expensive, no gingerbread 2.3 0s
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought it blind, very happy with it.

I had to buy this phone unexpectedly after falling asleep by the pool and ran inside due to a thunderstorm. I left my Blackberry outside:-(. I was leaving for a 2 week out of town work IT project and had to have something. Needless to say it was a while getting used to all the Apps compared to my BB Tour. I have loaded it up with lots of apps, I am kind of a geek and did not want to be limited by Apple. I love the Android sync features. The apps are better now, many were not ready for Charge back in early May. I have a dock station with spare battery, I highly recommend that, even though battery life is very good.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, android
Cons: still java/flash compatability issues
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed

Beautiful phone but I am terribly disappointed in 1) the FF camera is not available for video chat and, 2) the phone crashes when taking pictures.
I understand that Gingerbread FW should fix some of these issues but when will we get that update, if at all??
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, front facing camera not available for video chat, crashes when taking pictures
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I don't like having to wake my screen up to find out if I've missed a call or message. I also had a problem with my contacts showing up 2 or 3 times each, I had to delete them all and re-enter them one at a time. I also can't seem to increase the call volume while on a call. I also have a problem with the auto correct, it forces a change to simple words like, I'm- it force changes it to important. I hate that.

Has serious issues that manufacturer and carrier are ignoring

The complaints about this phone have been shuffled under the rug since it came out. My phone (model SCH-I510) is running firmware version 2.2.1 and kernel version 2.6.32.9. Non-rooted, tons of space available on sd and very few apps installed. Phone has serious issues with the GPS functionality (GPS will not lock in for up to 30 min- rebooting the phone, gps and praying to the sun god doesn't seem to help). The GPS feature is useless when you need it. Phone locks up, reboots and drops calls. Phone display shows 3g/4g connection when no connection is actually present - it will usually stall and then tell you 10 min later that it doesn't actually have a network connection. Screen is difficult to see in daylight. Many similar complaints are on Android forums and both Samsung and Verizon are silent about these issues. No updates to fix these issues have been made available for the consumers that have spent their hard-earned dollars to buy this product. I will certainly consider this blatant lack of product support in future product purchases.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, lack of product support
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
