No software updates and no Hulu apps pretty much useless TV I have had it two years because it came in my motor home. It has been nothing but a disappointment.
Philips products used to be pretty good I would not buy one of my own accord. JUNK
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

All went great until I tried to find the software for wirelessconnect

I picked up the TV this morning and within half an hour had it up and running in its basic mode, using the quick start guideline. After a bit of reading of the manual, I managed to set up the HD display with minimal problem. However when I went to set up the connection to my PC, I have endured nothing but frustration.
First of all the WIFI didn't connect after numerous tries, so I ran an Ethernet cable and managed to connect to my network. However to connect to my PC in order to share files up to the TV, I need the software Wirelessconnect, which you claim is available but after nearly 2 hours of trying I conclude it must be vaporware. Every link I have found on line, including the Philips product support points to http://www.wifimediaconnect.philips.com Clicking on that link takes one to the corporate home page and then into a totally useless set of pages that only point back to the same useless link after numerous searches. I am totally frustrated with the way this necessary software is hidden from view.
Pros: decent picture quality hardware set up is easy
Cons: needed software impossible to find.

Could not have asked for anything better on it performance. For the posters of the bad reviews, you should have contacted Philips excellent customer service. I to stumbled on a few problems with media, my router settings, firewall, and connections, but one call took care of it all.
Pros: picture quality sound and ease of use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Doesn't play any media...

I bought this tv because it was a smart TV and could connect to my pc or NAS to play media. Well...it connects but won't play anything. I don't think it supports more that 3 formats. It also requires a media server to receive files, I tried 2 it could see the files but gave a network playback error on all of them.
After 3 hours of troubleshooting if it's not working in 10 min it's going back.
Not happy!
Cons: doesn't play many formats, stand is cheap
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

TV itself is fine, but NetTV is garbage

The tv is really nice - good picture, sound, etc. The problem is the content available through this television. I imagined there would be some sort of internet or browser application - nothing that I have seen so far. Comes with just a few applications that I care about, a bunch of games, and seemingly no way to expand the applications. I just bought it today, and unless some hidden way to expand content magically appears, I will be returning it immediately tomorrow just based on my frustrations with the NetTV
Pros: nice picture
Cons: nettv seems really limiting

I will never buy another Philips product.

Their TVs do not work. They randomly turn off all of the time... It's very slow, whenever you use the netflix feature the screen turns black. When it freezes and you turn it off sometimes it takes ten minutes to actually shut off and turn back on. Biggest waste of money.

Wireless Connect junk
on August 3, 2013

Wireless connect is junk. I tried with 2 different mac laptops. 11.6 macbook air doesn't work at all. A 15" MBP works (video shows) but the lag is tremendously horrible. The "smart" piece is having netflix and other channels. The wireless connect is JUNK!
Pros: netflix and other channels
Cons: wireless connect junk, setup not intuitive
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
